“a great deal .... but”

this hotel is centrally located and so within easy walking distance of the major French Quarter attractions as well as areas beyond. if you can, get a room on the Orleans St. side of the property -- the rooms facing Bourbon St. are noisy all the time. the hotel is undergoing renovation, but even some of the recently decorated rooms still have some rough edges. and, a note to the cleaners -- if your management puts black marble floors and counters in the bathroom you need to keep them clean. the Bourbon Orleans staff does not keep them clean...yuck. the morning breakfast buffet is great ... so some good points, but some not so good points as well.

Room Tip: get a room on the Orleans St. side unless you really want to be entertained till the wee hours of th...

We have stayed at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel twice. Both times we were pleased with our accommodations and service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort and service.

Room Tip: Although you can have the buffet for breakfast I prefer to order off the menu. Service is excellent...

Arrived late, dark and full construction, no restaurant, no service. A welcome basket pre-arranged and pre-paid, no where to be found, the lone desk woman with no info. A cold, dark, hungry non-welcome for the week.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

The hotel is in the best location possible in the French Quarter. The lobby is beautiful (bellmen very helpful and courteous) and the room, overlooking the pool on the 4th floor was spacious and lovely. Would definitely stay there again; however, we hope they fix the following: the shower head is way to low for anyone over 5'4", a small fridge in the room would be nice, the pool needs to be heated with more chaise lounges (not enough seating overall) and we were disappointed in the bar - not open during the day and no pool service. Also, be aware that the hotel does not serve lunch, only breakfast (too pricey and only so so) and dinner. The pool experience is really diminished by these factors. The bar is evidently not hotel owned, just available for use by the hotel patrons, which explains their lack of customer service. We had to use the general security office hotel safety box as there was not an in room safe, which we were told will be remedied soon as they are just finishing their renovations. As I mentioned before, we would stay again just for the location and the wonderful king sized bed.

Room Tip: Overlooking the poor/courtyard are quieter, I assume. Also, if it's an issue, check with the st...

My sister and I had a wonderful four day stay at the Bourbon Orleans in early March. I found this hotel through bookit.com, and as a promotion, recieved the 4th night free. Incredibly comfortable beds. The hotel's breakfasts were great, buffet the first couple days, menu the next two. One day, ordered french toast and found out the restaurant did not have maple syrup, just cane syrup. The next day, ordered pancakes, and Gregory, the supervisor, presented me with my plate of pancakes and brought a bottle of maple syrup from behind his back. Love that kind of service! Great location, friendly staff, beautiful hotel.

I was a bit apprehensive staying here given its location (so close to Bourbon Street) but after actually getting there and seeing the room, I was sold.
The room was huge, very clean, very quiet (couldn't hear anything even facing the courtyard pool), and seconds to everything you want to see. Only drawback was the lack of a refrigerator. Couldn't ask for a better deal.

Rooms are pretty small. Nice, friendly staff especially in the bar. I would stay here again for the price we paid.
