My mother and I and our best friend come every year to NOLA. For the first time we stayed at the Olivier house.
They could not have been nicer. It felt like we were home. Southern hospitality at its best !!!! Great Location. Just off bourbon. Peaceful.. Great price. Couldnt ask for more....
Would recommend to everyone. Will be there again next year.

My husband and I have been staying here for years. The location is perfect (1/2 block off Bourbon) and the owners are very friendly and always accommodating.

They were very welcoming and it was right in the heart of Bourbon St. We checked out early and they kept our car parked until we left town later in the day. This was my first trip to NO and I have stayed at nice new hotels but if you do that then you tend to miss out on hidden gems like this one. Will definitely be back

I stayed at the Olivier House the last week of October 2011 and really enjoyed it. I visited New Orleans about 15 years ago but stayed outside the French Quarter at a typical chain hotel. This time, I wanted to stay in the French Quarter, at a place that had the feel of the French Quarter. The Olivier House was a different, eclectic, enjoyable experience. When I walked in the front door, it felt more like walking into a large house back in the 19th Century. Every room is different. I stayed the first night in an interior room and although it really had no view, the room was well appointed, unique, had lots of exposed brick, quiet (and, yes, it had a flat screen TV....they must have upgraded) and I would have enjoyed staying in it the whole time. However, I had one of their suites for the rest of the trip. I enjoyed the large living room (which included a flat screen TV), the long wet bar running down the hall (which included a dorm size fridge) to the bedroom and the separate bedroom (with a second flat screen TV). I really enjoyed the small balcony overlooking Toulouse Street and could see the crowd on Bourbon Street less than a block away. When I got tired of the Bourbon Street partying and noise, I could close the French door to the balcony and it was then completely quiet. I enjoyed the Olivier House but went into it with a bit of an open mind and the expectation that it would be different and not like a 5 star chain hotel. It has the smallest elevator I have ever experienced, but it worked. No bar, no restaurant, nor room service but being just steps away from the bars and restaurants of Bourbon Street, this was not a problem. Also, the small neighborhood Toulouse House Grocery is just around the corner so you can pick up drinks and food for the in room fridge. I really liked the location. Never needed a car the whole trip. Everyday, I would just walk out the door and explore the French Quarter on foot, with no set destination. I hope to return.

Room Tip: The more nights you stay, the better the rate.

This is an outstanding hotel located in the heart of the French Quarter, New Orleans. It is reasonably priced. The value is excellent compared to other hotels in the Quarter. It is centrally located for all your sightseeing trips in and around New Orleans. The hotel is situated just about one block from Bourbon Street, where all the "action" is and five blocks from Canal Street and the famed Street Car! However as you enter the hotel, you leave the hustle and bustle and noise from Bourbon Street behind and enter into another world reminiscent of the French colonial times! The furnishings are all period pieces. There is a large common sitting room next to the lobby and just behind that is a lush garden for relaxing and a Mint Julep. There is also a swimming pool for those hot humid summer days! The hotel is family run and the staff is excellent. They are friendly and will gladly help you with tours and suggestions if this is your first or tenth time in New Orleans. At the Olivier House you are within walking distance of everything the French Quarter has to offer you and as a bonus they have free parking in a secure lot just up the street, so if you are driving to New Orleans, as I did, you know that by staying at the Olivier House you not only have great accommodations, but a place to put your car at no extra charge. Olivier House Hotel is New Orleans.

Room Tip: If stairs are not for you, make sure you request a room on street level.

New Orleans can be an edgy experience no matter where you stay: the city is a whiff of Paris, a pinch of Amsterdam and a belt from Fraternity Row. Knowing you are staying with family is invaluable when things go wrong. Now they did not go wrong for us, but we noticed at the Olivier House how gracious staff were to: the 20 something young lady who "over did" things and was fetched some Pepto Bismol, to the large Latino family looking for appropriate activities who received their information in perfect Spanish, and to endless numbers of people calling with a zillion questions about the city. Staff were as unfailingly patient and gracious as they were helpful and informed. Deborah was a study in quietly passionate devotion, even as she struggled through her own challenges. A young man on the night staff googled all the music of the moment in town for us. And owner's son Bobby responded immediately and fairly to a number of issues we had with our room, offering with no trace of irritation or judgement a reduced price on one night and our choice of what was available for the rest of the stay. We chose 112: its living room is a courtyard with a fountain and skylight. Opening French doors, you run smack dab into a huge elephant ear palm(?) in the large sitting room with couch, adjacent dining table, and kitchen/ bar. On the right is a black wrought iron circular staircase climbing to the loft bedroom. There are bathrooms on both levels. Shower for Adam, tub for Eve. Paradise found!

Room Tip: Consult the many you tube videos and talk to staff for room selection. There are, I believe, 42 to...
