We stay here for Mardi Gradi 2012 and it was THE PERFECT location, one street over from Burboun st. Reception staff was so helpful, the late night staff was not so helpful unfortunatly, room was clean and spacious and just what we requested. During Mardi Gradi they do cut back on some of the services.

We got in on Friday and went straight away to the Carousel bar at the hotel, it was packed and stayed packed until we left on Wednesday morning. Very interesting bar that seemed to do a lot more business than a lot of those in the French quarter. Hotel is located at the most convienent spot in the french Quarter, it is near to everywhere. we went to the riverside , easy walk, to the casino, easy walk all through the quarter , very easy walk , i suppose they had this hotel in mind when they said the BIG EASY. the door men were great , they knew their stuff as for the consierge , you could not ask for better. The hotel is so central it was easyb to get to all the sights we wanted to see. Definetly would go back.

Room Tip: I was on the 11th floor facing the river , the best.

Charming historic hotel in the heart of the French Quarter gives you access to the best (and worst - depending on your perspective) of New Orleans. The hotel is just a few steps away from all of the action on Bourbon Street but quiet enough to offer an escape from all the craziness that is New Orleans. Carousel Bar is a fun experience, but as the seats around the bar revolve, you might want to take a stationary seat in the lounge if you plan to have a few drinks! The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and room service arrives quickly. Hot food was hot, cold food was cold!

Great location. In the quarter but not on Bourbon. Rooms were the perfect size. A couple blocks off of Bourbon street so it was not too loud. Everything is walking distance. Only downside was a daily fee for internet and all surrounding wifi connections were blocked.

We LOVED it here. A short walk and you could be just about anywhere in this great city ! Burbon Street, Jackson Square, the Casino, the River Walk or the Convention Center all within 20 minutes. The Hotel itself is marvelous in its architecture and accommodations. If you are looking for a special little getaway after a long day on the town check out the pool on the roof ! It's a bit pricey but isn't that what luxury is all about ?

Room Tip: Get up high and enjoy !

Beautiful traditional hotel located in a very convenient location to Bourbon or Canal Sts. The Carousel Bar is very unique and very popular. They good local entertainment during the weekends. If you plan to visit the bar, do it during the day when Marvin is bar tending and have him make you a Lemon Drop Martini.

Room Tip: The day shift front desk staff were not very friendly. Not willing to go an extra step to help. If y...

This grand hotel has always been on our bucket list - and she did not let us down.
We arrived around midnight in March and from the moment we stepped in, the hotel service staff was on mark.
The room was perfect, the bathroom quite large and your comfort was paramount.
The fabulous "rotating" hotel bar is a must see; staff can make everything and anything you desire and the crowd is perfect for "people watching".
What more can you say other than LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Could not be better; in the heart of the Quarter but away from the big party scene of Bourbon Street.
The only down side was the parking charge is quite high - and they add extra on top of you have a "larger" vehicle. Our cross-over SUV was in the "larger" fee area.
Stay here at least once to see it all for yourself.
