Luxury in the heart of the French Quarter

I'm a Local New Orleanian, but have stayed here a few times over the years. Beautiful rooms and courtyard/pool areas. Parking onsite. Short walk to the best bars/restaurants anywhere! Right on Bourbon Street, but in the hotel it's quiet enough.

Room tip: Get a room on the opposite side of Bourbon if you want it quieter.

The Big Easy at its best!

The Royal Sonesta which is located right on Bourbon in the heart of the French Quarter Is truly the best way to experience the Big Easy. We’ve lost count on the number of times we have visited NOLA and once we discovered the Royal Sonesta about 14 years ago we haven’t stay anywhere else. What we have found to be icing on the cake is the “R Club” which removes you from crowds and just treats you like Royalty. The R Club Manager Darin Stern makes it all happen he treats you like you’re family, he goes out of his way to know your name he goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable, Thank you Darin. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the hotel had renovated all the rooms this year and they classed up an already classy hotel. We can’t wait for you next visit.

Beautiful Hotel In the Heart of the Action.

The Royal Sonesta is a lovely, friendly hotel in the heart of the French quarter, close and convenient to Canale street and the streetcars, minutes from Jackson Square and the French Market and right on Bourbon St. If you are a partier and the bar scene, this is perfect. We are mature couple on our first visit to NO. We feared the location might be a little too close to the action. When we checked in we asked if there was and interior room. There was none available but we were offered earplugs to help out and suggested we check the next day to see if a room opened up. As it turned out, our room was on 5th floor and the background noise really wasn't a problem so we never even asked to move. Bourbon St. was indeed full of drunken partiers all night, but the atmosphere was festive and friendly. We had the opportunity to see a wedding procession with a Front Line, could walk around the area with ease and listen to the fantastic street musicians the place across the street has breakfast with live music. What more could you ask.

And there off!

The hotel was perfectly located if you want to stay in the French Quarter area. You need to think about how often you will leave the hotel because traffic is a problem. Other than the traffic the hotel is perfect. I will be staying there again!!

What a spot

were invited to spend a long weekend with friends. Had never been to New Orleans before. This hotel is right on the main street, everything is outside the door, but the noise stays outside! The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. It was undergoing renovations, i'm sure when they are done the place will be even more amazing.
