“Spa Facilities”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

The service, rooms meals etc are all of the standard that you would expect from a four star hotel.(excellent) We have stayed numerous times at similar hotels in Austria but what makes this hotel stand out from the others is the range and quality of the spa facilities. A choice of saunas and jacuzzis but best of all are the numerous relaxation rooms with soft music and mood lighting. For a relaxing holiday there is no need to leave the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The bus stop is outside the hotel for the Joker Card.

We booked hotel Theresia not knowing what to expect.
I can honestly say it is one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
The staff treats you as if you were the only person staying in the hotel. Our room was extremely clean and very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and profession, but not pushy and nothing was too much trouble. Our waiter Stefan was knowledgeable on the food and wine and looked after us in a discreet unimposing way. The food was creative and tasty and extremely varied. As a vegetarian I had an amazing, varied menu and the chef was happy to cater for all dietary requirements I had! The menu choices could be mixed and matched. The outdoor heated pool and hot tub was a welcome sight at the end of the ski day. Having a Ski shop on site was a bonus too! The position of the hotel gave us a relaxed retreat away from the centre of the village but close enough to do the 5 minute walk or get the ski bus from directly outside the hotel.
We hope to return next summer to try the summer season mountain biking.
We loved our stay. We were made very welcome and we can honestly stay we really did not want to leave! Thank you hotel Theresia staff.

We booked this hotel based on the excellent reviews here, but the experience exceeded our our high expectations. This is an amazing hotel and I do not even know where to start. We stayed in a two-room suite ("Gamshag") and the room was beautiful. Water, orange and apple juice, sparkling wine and chocolate all for free, and the decoration was very classy. Not a standard hotel room at all - very special.

Many hotels advertise that they have a spa but in reality they only have a small swimming pool and a sauna. Theresia Gartenhotel has a real spa with a good choice of treatments (I did a pedicure and my wife did a facial and we were both very happy), and they have at least three different saunas (60 degrees "Finnish style", 100 degrees "Finnish style", and a steam sauna), they have a cold indoor swimming pool, and big indoor jacuzzi, a 10x5 metres indoor swimming, a heated outdoor swimming pool which is open in the winter. Oh yes, and an outdoor jacuzzi too. They also have a heated meditation room with a glass ceiling. Amazing!

Food is excellent. We love going to restaurants so we were a bit hesitant about having a half board but the five-course dinners were so good so we were very happy about this. In fact you have three five-course menus to choose from every day, and you can also "mix" the menus. The wine list is good with most wines in the 40-60 Euro range - I would have preferred more choice of expensive wines but there were some on the list. I ordered a Comtes de Champagne 1998 for 170 Euro one evening and saved half the bottle for the next day - that is a good benefit of eating in the same restaurant every night! The breakfast buffet was also excellent and so was the service. On the second day they remembered how we liked our coffee and served it to us without asking. In fact, everyone working at the hotel is so nice. We complimented one of the staff for their service level one day, and she said that "the management treat us very well, and then we treat guests very well". It sounds very simple but I believe her!

Everything about this hotel is great, and one more thing: even the guests are classy! That is important too, and I guess a classy hotel like this attracts classy people. There were many regulars at this hotel, and we are already talking about going back. We travelled without children this time, but next time we will probably bring the whole family, perhaps including our parents and siblings. This is too good not to share.

We thought our 10th visit must be something of a record but the couple next to us are on their 25th and another lady first came 40 years ago. Everything about this hotel is just superb from the friendliness of the staff, the attention to every detail, the rooms which clean and bright and the food in the restaurant is absolutely superb with great variety, superbly cooked. We shall be back next year!

Room Tip: Take an upgrade from the basic Bernkogel rooms to get larger space and better views

My wife and I have just returned from a great week of skiing, loads of sun loads of snow and to cap it all the best skiing hotel we have stayed in.
Friendly and attentive staff and I mean every single person we met.
Room, clean, comfortable,quiet and spacious.
Food, absolutely brilliant, high quality, imaginative and healthy.
Spa and health facilities, perfect after a hard days skiing.
Convenience, ski hire in the hotel, quality kit at competitive price with great advice. Walk out the door turn right go over the bridge turn left short walk put your ski's on grab the T bar back later. Return straight to hotel but don't ski into the pool!
Resort, great varied skiing and they have a floodlit slope, careful though there's a good bar at the bottom of it!!
Great time and the hotel truly capped it all honestly they could not do enough for us and in such style. Terrific we will be back.

The Hotel Theresia has become our ‘second home’. For many years now we have spent four to five weeks each year there - three weeks skiing during January & March, & walking the mountains during the Summer months. The Theresia is a family run hotel & this is reflected in the general ambiance, providing a totally relaxing environment in which to enjoy your holiday. It is so easy to feel relaxed & ‘at home’ as soon as you arrive & the whole of the Theresia team are always very keen to make sure everything is perfect & nothing is too much trouble.
There are a variety of different styles of spacious rooms to choose from - from the more traditional, to the more contemporary - a very successful combination. All are kept spotless.
There is a huge choice at breakfast, including eggs, bacon etc. cooked, on order, to your preference. The amazing selection of afternoon cakes & ice cream are not to be missed after a hard day’s skiing! Then at dinner you may choose any combination from the different menus. So, forget the diet! You can ski or walk it off the next day! You can swim in the lovely indoor & outdoor pools, relax in the sauna world or wintergarden, or just laze around the gardens & pool in the summer.
Being situated away from the main centre is an advantage for us - it is quieter (in the past we have stayed in hotels in the centre & it can be very noisy at night). It is a very pleasant stroll along by the river to the centre. There is a bus stop right outside, so you are able to vary where you begin or end your day’s skiing. Or there is a short t.bar lift nearby to join the lift system. Even when snow conditions generally have not been too good, we have always still been able to ski back to within a couple of minutes walk of the hotel.
In the summer the walking is amazing. With the free Joker Card, provided by the hotel, you can use the four main lifts to take you up high & then walk the well marked, various graded, paths enjoying the spectacular scenery!
We are counting down to the next time!

My husband and I stayed at the Theresia Garten Hotel for a week in February 2012. We couldn't really fault it. The staff were friendly and attentive and bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. Food was great - a choice of menus for evening meal including bio (organic) and 'regional' options, an amazing buffet breakfast and delicious cakes in the afternoon. Wine is slightly on the expensive side though the house red was more than acceptable.
It's not for those who like being very central and being able to fall out of bars and into bed, but the slight walk from town (15 mins) means it's lovely and quiet. You can ski back to the hotel via a red run behind the hotel or across the blue runs on the other side of the road.
