Seward has a spectacular waterfront setting and makes much of its waterfront and other undeveloped city-owned lands in the downtown available for RVs/campers. The sites are mostly basic and crowded with minimal amenities, but the price is commensurate with that level of service - $15-20/night at the most basic sites (no power or other utilities). Its obviously a nice little earner for the city as most sites are full over the busy weekends of fishing season.
Which brings me to my biggest grievance - the many sites that are reserved by chairs and so unavailable to new arrivals. I get that some of these are people who legitimately occupy the site and have taken their RV offsite for a daytrip... but its really annoying to see vacant sites reserved by an unmoving chair for 2 full days in a row sitting there unoccupiable and unpaid... especially when some of those sites are near a "campground host". Time to pick your game up Seward.

Room tip: Ask the campground host if a site you wish to occupy is reserved without payment
