“Awesome B&B!”
Reviewed 19 September 2011

We stayed at the Alaska Paddle Inn for two nights earlier this week in the High Tide room. The B&B is located south of downtown Seward so you will need a car to get to the inn. The place was very clean and comfortable and the attention to every detail was impressive. Great woodwork, artistic touches and great view. The bed was very comfortable and spacious shower. This is not a typical B&B. There are only two rooms in a building next to the owners residence. They provide cereals and waffle mix to prepare your own breakfast, with juice and milk already stocked in the refrigerator. The owners are friendly but not intrusive. During our stay I received a massage from Allison, who does professional massages out of their home. They also arranged a Kenai Fjord catamaran tour. If you book through them you receive a 10% discount.

Our last morning we were able to watch a bald eagle eating on the shore out of the window as we ate breakfast. This is a great place to stay - the only downside is they only have two rooms which may make availability tough next time I go back. Stay here. You will love it.

We have visited Seward several times and wish we had known about this inn before now. A short drive from town, but the view is amazing and beach access is great for fishing. We had all we needed for breakfast, and were able to use the grill for some fresh caught fish! We stayed in the Low Tide room which was perfect for us. Beautiful bath! There is no TV, which was fine with us. Fishing in the Seward area is just fabulous, and this was the perfect place for us. Alan and Allison were great hosts. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: High Tide room requires walking up a flight of stairs. Both rooms have fantastic views!

We had the high tide room. Dragging the luggage up to it was not for the faint hearted. But it is worth it for the view. And the room is very nice too. We were there in the rain, but still enjoyed our stay. Some complain about the breakfast. We like the fact that we could have it when we wanted to eat and not be dictated by others. While the high tide room is not wheel chair accessible, the low tide room is, I think.

Our stay here was fantastic!
The massages we got from Allison were the best we have found at any 5star resort we have been too, and the Inn is cozy yet spacious... we had the lower tide room and the stone shower/bath blew us away. Our hosts were laid back, knowlegable and very helpful. The veiw of the bay is incredible. A short drive from town, it is the perfect homebase for adventure. The fishing off the beach right on the bay, was almost as good as the charters!
We had a wonderful trip, and met an inspirational couple who run a first rate Inn... Already planning a return visit! The Seward area and the Kenai was all we hoped for. Highly recommend the Alaska Paddle Inn!!! Thanks again!

Room Tip: Book early!

This is a great place to stay in Seward. Loved the sliding chairs in front of the large window overlooking Resurrection Bay. I could have sat there for hours. There is no TV in your room, but you won't miss it because you'll be staring out the large front window. Bring binoculars so you can watch wildlife on the other side of the bay. This was a very tranquil place. Would stay here again when in Seward. Unfortunately, a storm cancelled most of our activities while in Seward. But it was good to sleep to the sound of the rain at night.

My husband and I went on an Alaskan adventure for our 35th anniversary. It was our great fortune to find the Paddle Inn on line. After reading SO many positive reviews it was an easy decision.

We stayed in the Low Tide Room for three wonderful days and nights. It more then met our expectations. It was nice to be a bit away from town and the view from the porch and front window was incredible. We loved the shower and breakfast treats and the picnic table on Resurrection Bay.

We loved having our privacy but the owners were right next store if we needed anything. We greatly appreciated our late checkout!

It is a long way from Wisconsin but I think we will be back.

Debbie

The high tide room is a romantic work of art. Loved preparing our breakfast with the supplied ingredients, loved the granola-yummy! Beautiful watching the sun, birds, wildlife from our expansive windows. Bathroom tile work was gorgeous. A lovely location to relax but close to Seward for activities. Hiking and laundry nearby. Wonderful location for relaxation, quiet and solitude-great for recharging the batteries.
