I couldn't imagine a better place to stay to fully enjoy Sewerd and Alaska. Alan and Allison have created the ideal combination of comfort and Alaska creativity, that was only matched by their warmth, hospitality and willingness to do basically everything to make our stay in Sewerd the highlight of our Alaska adventure.

We stayed in the Low Tide room where the towering mountains and crystal clear water of Resurrection Bay seem to flow right into the creative and exquisitely handcrafted fixtures and furnishings of our Alaska home away from home - so much so, that I wouldn't have been surprised if a Bald Eagle would have flown right over our bed, or a sea lion would have poked his head in the door for a curious peek at the newest visitors. And Alan and Allison, and Vasie's freely shared deep knowledge and love of the flora and fauna would be more than worth the price even if the lodging and location weren't so ideal.

As I'm sure you can imagine, I couldn't more highly recommend staying here for your Sewerd Alaska Adventure. It will be the highlight of your Alaska visit, it sure was for ours...

We stayed in the Spruce House 3 nights last July. Alison and Alan were very helpful before and during our stay. The house is lovely, the view awesome and we loved our visit there. This is definitely where we will want to stay again when we have another opportunity to visit Seward. The washer and dryer came in very handy as we were there in the middle of our 2 week vacation.

We stayed for three nights, and it was in a great location, an easy drive to town. The open living room, dining room, kitchen was perfect for our family to gather in the evenings after full days of touring. The house itself was new and well built and not at all what we expected (I was thinking of an old cabin in the woods). We loved the fact there was a grill as we were able to grill fresh fish. The washer and dryer was also really handy. The views across the water were just spectacular. And we even saw a young bear on the road on the way back to the house one afternoon!

Thank you for staying with us. I love the fall! It is quiet, the air is crisp and you do see bears a little more often this time of year. I am glad the Spruce House had all of the amenities you needed for your vacation. Having a washer and dryer is very handy as well as a fully equipped kitchen. Going out every to eat adds up in Seward and it is nice to enjoy that house.

I stayed at the Spruce House with my two adult children in June 2017. The Spruce House is amazing - great combination of comfort and awesome craftsmanship.Very comfortable beds, great bathrooms, and a wonderful deck. We loved having a washer and dryer too! Plus a wonderful location right across from Resurrection Bay! If you're looking for a peaceful place when you're spending time in the Seward area, this is your best bet! We hope to be able to come back in a couple of years!

Room Tip: All bedrooms in the house are great!

Amazing location right on Resurrection Bay- A bit out of town so best to have a car. Beautiful view. We saw whales feeding right from the beach near the B & B. Hosts are very accommodating but also very good at allowing privacy.

Room Tip: 2 rooms, one up, one down. We were in lower and view still amazing. Stairs to get to upper level.

Thank you for your review. I love it when our guests get to see whales! Our location is very special in that regard but it is best to have a car since we are about 6 minutes from town and 10 to the harbor. The taxi cab companies are a hit or a miss.
