I guess that i expected more from this B&B because of all of the write-ups and history. It was nice enough, but there was just something missing. The food was not very good - we weren't too impressed with the rye cookies they had put out and the breakfast (bland muffins, cereal and yogurt) wasn't too great. The room was nice - what you'd expect from a traditional B&B. And, the owners, while friendly, didn't really go out of their way to make us feel welcome. Although the bookelt they put together of Skagway in each room was excellent.
I don't know why I expected more. Maybe if the breakfast were better, I'd have given it above an "Average" rating. There certainly wasn't anything wrong with The White House. But, if I went back to Skagway, I'd definitely check out something new.
