“Excellent choice”
Reviewed 19 September 2011

We took the Quick Shuttle from Vancouver to Seattle, the downtown stop was a $6.50 cab fare to our hotel.

The Paramount Hotel exceeded our expectation. It is an older hotel that has been renovated with a contemporary and functional style. The rooms are an average size, but are well laid out. They are very clean and soundproof. We were on the 4th floor facing Pine Street and heard nothing.

The beds were super comfy and the a/c worked great. I liked the large tiles in the shower that went right up to the ceiling. The towels were exceptionally soft and absorbant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, you got the feeling they actually all enjoyed coming to work - which you tend to see a lot less of these days in the service industry and really made our stay even more enjoyable.

The additional bonus is the great location and the very reasonable price. I left this hotel feeling like I had made a really excellent choice.

Walking out the door to the left of the front desk puts you at the corner of 8th & Pine, turn right down Pine and walk the 8 blocks straight down to Pike's Market, along the way you may want to make a few stops at Nordstroms, Macey's, Gap etc.

We took a cab the next day to pier 91 ($12.00 fare) hopped on a Princess Cruise ship & sailed back to Vancouver - a fun weekend for 2 middle aged sisters.

The next time either of us are in Seattle, we definitely would stay again at the Paramount.

The Paramount Hotel on the corner of Pine Street and 8th Avenue, 1 block from the Washington State Convention Center, is located in the heart of Seattle's compact and exciting downtown, just 3 blocks from the Monorail station and 2 blocks from 2 large, multilevel, enclosed shopping malls. The Monorail offers a fun, 5-minute ride to Seattle Center, with its iconic Space Needle and fabulous EMP Museum (which combines the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Hall of Fame). Two multiplex cinemas are just a few blocks away from the Paramount, as are numerous restaurants (and more Starbucks stores than one can easily count). The Downtown Transit Tunnel, with bus and light rail connections to Pioneer Square and other parts of the city, is also just a couple of blocks away.
The hotel itself is fairly compact; it feels upscale while not quite reaching four-star luxury. Rooms are comfortably large, with firm, cushy beds and large, flat panel TVs. An Asian seafood restaurant resides right off the lobby, but as I never tried it, I cannot comment on it.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor, quite close to the street and to meeting rooms, but the room was very q...

We were exhibiting at the convention center that was only 2 blocks away and so convenient for a 4 min. walk. Right downtown could walk everywhere, didn't need a car. Rooms very nice and restaurant downstairs had great breakfast. Great pricing compared to other hotels near by. Front desk was very helpful at recommending places and setting up car for pick up to airport, their town cars are cheaper than the taxis.

I loved everything about this hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights in early September, and were glad we chose this hotel. It seemed like an upscale hotel, but without an overly upscale price. The customer service is top notch, the location is perfect, and the rooms are very comfortable. I'm normally a firm matress kind of guy, but I swear lying on that bed was like lying on a cloud. Very comfortable. I'm normally not a fan of having the bathroom sink outside of the bathroom, and not beyond a closed door, but the way they configured the room, you got the best of both worlds. Location-wise, this hotel is just a short walk to all of the attractions, and the monorail, which will get you over to the Space Needle and Experience Music Project area. Don't waste your money on a rental car if you're planning on staying in Seattle, because you won't need it. We didn't eat at the restaurant on the main floor, but it seemed to be busy at all the peak times, so I can only assume that means the food is decent. Next time we're in Seattle, we'll definitely be staying at this hotel again. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I stayed there for the APSA Conference; booked on Travelocity. The hotel is a perfect location -- a block from the Seattle Convention Center/Conference Center, which was very convenient. It's also within short walking distance of lots of tourist-type things like Pike Place Market and the monorail to the Space Needle. The room was pleasantly decorated in warm tones (gold, brown, cream and red), separate shower and bathing tub, & all of the amenities worked (iron, blow dryer, etc). The furniture was comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful, and prompt, and the hotel's restaurant is good. I really have nothing bad to say about the Paramount!

Room Tip: ask about a corner room -- lots of light

I stayed at The Paramount for 4 nights over Labor Day Weekend. It was my first time at this property but can happily say it won't be my last.

For me the location was perfect, just 3 blocks from the Westlake stop on the Link Light Rail, I was in downtown Seattle within 30 minutes of boarding the train at SEA-TAC. The hotel's location was within a 15 minute walk to just about everything in the downtown area including great restaurants and bus stops were nearby to go to Capitol Hill, Pioneer Square, Belltown, Green Lake, you can get anywhere you need to be on the Seattle bus system!

The staff at The Paramount were friendly and helpful, the bellman booked a very early morning taxi the night before a morning flight home and the taxi was there on time! Check-in was very quick and easy and our room & bath were clean, clean, clean! The beds were very comfortable too! The free wi-fi was great, but some days the connection was better than other, but that happens and was not an issue for me.

I would heartily recommend The Paramount Hotel for anyone wanting a well located, comfortable and clean hotel.

Excellent hotel, very convenient to the Convention Center and walking distance to Pike Place Market. Stand out service for Tom at the hotel's bell stand. He would put most concierges to shame as his unfailingly friendly service, great tips and spot on recommendations are outstanding. Check in with him as soon as you get there!
