Stopped in here for a night, stayed in a private en suite room with very cool, individualized artwork. Really wish we could've stayed longer to appreciate their accomodations and the neighborhood a little more but such is life. We popped into a kitchen on the way out in the morning and were greeted with gorgeous sunlight streaming in through the windows. I bet it'd be a great way to start a Seattle day for someone who was staying there a bit longer.

City Hostel is one of the best hostels i've ever stayed at. From the outside you would never guess that the hostel even existed. The rooms are clean and the furniture all decent, the staff are friendly and it was overall a really good experience :)

Stayed at the City Hostel in Seattle,

was a good hostel for the everyday backpacker, its not as close to Pike street markets as you would like but the room we stayed in was nice and secure which is important as it is fairly rough outside on the street at night

seattle is a lovely city, if you do anything at all in seattle then ride the gold pig at the pike st markets

I stayed at the Seattle City Hostel while visiting my son. What a great location. Literally within blocks of so many of the city attractions. The Hostel itself, is great. Literally, a work of heart. Each room painted by different artist, but the ultimate, the kitchen area where breakfast is served. Clean, with kitchens on every floor, and more bathrooms than you could need! Computer room, library, and movie theater with great movie selections available for loan. Staff is super friendly, and welcoming.

Room Tip: Sorry it would not give me an option not to respond on the fitness center. There was not one, but y...

Art-works or the rooms are beautiful, the staff is friendly... but, that´s all. The hostel´s comun places are inexistents, there si nothing to do in the hostel. In other hostels you can find people talking each other and having a nice time on lobby or in comun places. Not here, it is such a sad place to stay. The baths are clean but very minimalist (no gel or dryer), and rooms just have the indispensable things to stay...
Anyway, not a bad place to stay but if you want to know another travellers and get some fun better go to green tortoise or hi hostel. Ah, have no printer in the hostel. Amazing in those days!

The Belltown location is excellent. Everything is within walking distance. The rooms are basic, but spacious. The shared bathrooms are clean and always available. The staff is INCREDIBLY helpful and friendly. The common spaces are fun and useful-- movie theater, kitchen, breakfast. Great value. HIGHLY recommend.

Room Tip: Choose at the end of the hall, further away from kitchens/bathrooms.

I am planning a trip to Europe, and I thought I ought to try a hostel to see if I liked it.I loved it!As a shy person,I get lonely in a hotel by myself, but the hostel staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. In future,I would likely book a private room,as my dorm mates liked the room very warm, and also try for a room in the back,as the late night drunks were a bit loud for my taste. The rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms were spotlessly clean though, quite basic but with everything you needed. Also, the staff paid prompt attention to any problems. They were more than willing to give directions, and give you a good idea of what to see in Seattle.Honestly, they were some of the friendliest people I have ever met!(The manager came up to me on my first night there to make sure i'd had some supper!)All in all,I feel quite confident in travelling to Europe by myself, now that i've tried a hostel.I suspect that City Hostel is one of the "good ones",but I am willing to give it a shot. And i'm coming back to Seattle soon!
