We stayed here based on reviews here and on other websites. We stayed one night so we could go to the Seattle Art Museum. We found the staff helpful, and we were upgraded to a double queen, view room upon check-in, which we appreciated. The room was large, with a 42" flatscreen TV and a nice view of the lake. The shower was good--good water pressure. The bed was comfortable. There was a bar sink and mini fridge in the room, but no in-room safe. The free wifi worked fine, but I couldn't get the wired connection to work (not sure if it was my computer's setup, and I didn't have time to fiddle with it). Breakfast was good, in a room with a view of the lake. The free parking was convenient, and we left our car at the hotel and took the shuttle into town. The staff allowed us to leave our car for the day, even after we had checked out.

The shuttle runs twice an hour and has 3 routine stops: the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and Pioneer Square. Book a place on the shuttle at the front desk to be sure you get a spot at your preferred time (it holds 14 people). For the return trip, just call the hotel and request pickup at one of the stops and they come by for you within 10 minutes. (There are pay phones in Pike Place Market if your cell phone doesn't have roaming or you don't want to pay roaming charges.) The shuttle driver is very helpful, with lots of interesting information--just ask. Be sure to leave him a tip!

Our only criticism of this hotel was the location. It's in a bit of an industrial area, overlooking a busy road (all night) with no shops or restaurants nearby. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Driving to other parts of town can be confusing because of road construction near the hotel. We got lost a couple of times driving to and from a restaurant on the other side of the I-5. Given the price of the room, however, I think we got good value.

I stayed for five nights at this hotel and found it was in a nice location with a nice view of Lake Union. I feel I got value for money from the hotel. The rooms were a nice size and the bathroom adequately equipped. The bed was a nice size and quite comfortable. In terms of cleaning the rooms were kept to a good standard. The breakfast was far from the best I have had but was sufficient for a few days. With the exception of one member of staff I found the staff helpful and polite. I would stay here again.

I'd have to echo others' comments here. Found Silver Cloud Inn - Lk. Union (our first time staying there) to be wonderful little surprise. Very clean, spacious, king rm w comfy bed & fireplace. Front desk very polite and accommodating and free parking was the real bonus. We basically left the car parked and took the free shuttle or tram downtown to Westlake Ctr. For $.75 a person (senior rate) one way, vs. $25+ a day to park a car downtown you can't beat that kind of deal! Breakfast was quite good and lots of it. I had the pool and hot tub on several occasions to myself in the late evening. Tho' there isn't a restaurant onsite at the hotel, a short walk away was Chandler's Cove with several good restaurants. In fact, Chandler's restaurant was so good, we ate there twice, so the walk back to the hotel gave us a bit of exercise after several wonderful meals and I felt safe in the area. All in all, a real bargain and yes, we'll be back.

My husband and I spend last week in a "view suite" at this hotel with our 2 granddaughters (ages 5 and 3) and it was an unbelievably great experience! The indoor pool was great and never crowded; the complimentary breakfast was really nice--everything from eggs and sausage to chocolate chip muffins (the girls' favorite!). Our views of Lake Union and Queen Ann hill were awesome, too. They also had a wine and cheese reception for guests on Tuesday night which was a very nice perk.
Another plus for this hotel was the streetcar which came almost to our door that went down Westlake Ave. every 15 minutes. We rode it twice to the Whole Foods Market and picked up great salads, etc. for supper back at the hotel.
The hotel also has a free shuttle that will take you downtown, but we never used that so I can't rate it.
We will DEFINITELY stay here again when we are in Seattle.

We had a family reunion in town with over 13 people and we all stayed at the Silver Cloud at .Lake Union. It was very comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced. The breakfast was very extensive and quite good. The bed was comfortable, and it had a real blanket instead of the down comforter, which I find too hot. Sink outside of the bathroom was nice.

Room Tip: Some floor noise from above so we used white noise maker; cheaper rooms towards the freeway - east...

We stayed at the Silver Cloud Inn for the third time on South Lake Union in Seattle. Lucky enough to have received great rates on priceline twice. The hotel is immaculate, the rooms are very spacious, the decor pleasing and some have lake views. The real plus is that this hotel has free parking( a rare thing in Seattle)....a shuttle that will take you where you want to go and Seattle's light rail (all two miles of it) is located a few blocks away and will get you downtown. Add to this a really nice breakfast room with lake views and a lot of breakfast options. All of this topped off by extremely kind and professional staff.
