Description: Le Fournil Bakery & Catering - providing lunch and breakfast catering for all of Seattle, Bellevue and the surrounding areas. Famous french bakery, with amazing croissants, lunch and breakfast croissant sandwiches, cakes, desserts and other cakes and treats in the french tradition. Great coffee as well.

Living in Seattle, I am an admitted coffee snob. Being a foodie, I also like great pastries. Especially French.

But it's relatively difficult to find a place that does both truly well. Le Fournil is just such a place.

Espresso drinks are done by a dedicated barista with some nice dense foam and foam art on top. They use Cafe Umbria coffee, which I often buy for my home espresso machine.

They have a great selection of French pastry, which are not as great as Cafe Besalu in Ballard, but definitely very good. Trouble with Besalu is the coffee is just not that good.

Anyway, the service at Le Fournil is friendly and good. Limited free parking in the flower lady building near the U bridge. I will be back!

This spot is a little tricky to find. The pastries are good, but definitely not the best in Seattle.

In the early mornings when they are baking the entire block smells like overwhelming fresh baked deliciousness. I love this place! The croissants (all dozen varieties of them) are absolutely amazing. My favorite is Almond... simply fantastic. All of the tarts are also pretty amazing. And the quiches!!

Try the lunch special: fresh sandwich on croissant/baguette or a quiche/salad with any pastry and any drink.

They serve Cafe Umbria coffee, which is my favorite local Seattle roast coffee.

If that weren't enough, they atmosphere of this cute cafe is so simple and relaxing. Perfect for meeting a friend or simply enjoying a book on a rainy day. This place is one of my favorite places in the Eastlake neighborhood.

Le Fournil is the quintessential french bakery. I use to work down the street on Eastlake at a bakery. Found Le Fournil and my heart and arteries fell for it. True test of a good french bakery is the croissant! Man oh man their croissants are light, flaky, buttery and beyond compare. The other pastries are the same.
