Living in Seattle, I am an admitted coffee snob. Being a foodie, I also like great pastries. Especially French.
But it's relatively difficult to find a place that does both truly well. Le Fournil is just such a place.
Espresso drinks are done by a dedicated barista with some nice dense foam and foam art on top. They use Cafe Umbria coffee, which I often buy for my home espresso machine.
They have a great selection of French pastry, which are not as great as Cafe Besalu in Ballard, but definitely very good. Trouble with Besalu is the coffee is just not that good.
Anyway, the service at Le Fournil is friendly and good. Limited free parking in the flower lady building near the U bridge. I will be back!
