This is a basic hotel, the clue is in the name, but it is clean, quiet and well run by it's owners who are proud of what they do.
You only have to check out the garden that runs round the hotel and the parking to see that.

The room is a decent size for 2 with a very comfortable bed and duvet. There's no wardrobe , only a few hangers, a table, a flatscreen tv and a separate shower and toilet. The washbasin is in the room.

We slept well, there wasn't any noise and the blind cut out the light.

We didn't eat breakfast but simply got a drink from the machine and you have Lidl just next door for anything you might need. There's a microwave in the reception area so you can heat up things and eat them there at the tables.

If we were in the area and needed a hotel we would return again, we paid 54€ for one night mid week.

We stopped as a group of motorcyclist and used the hotel as a base to tour the D-Day sites "perfect"!
Parking safe for bikes and the staff were so helpful even getting breakfast on early so we could catch the early ferry
Town was a short walk and restaurants were a plenty
Rooms small and little storage space but very clean only French tv also
Only downside was wifi was very weak or non existent when it worked
Overall the hotel was great and perfect for bikers!

This hotel is located behind a Lidls supermarket which makes an excellent landmark and therefore easy to find. I didn't notice any bars or restaurants in the locality.
Why do I say it's different? Well, I'd recommend it for a person travelling alone and looking for an overnight stopover but not for couples or longer stays.
The bedroom is clean and the bed is comfortable and bedding is clean and good condition. There is a small flat screen TV in the corner of the room and lighting can be controlled by controls on the headboard which is a nice touch. The facilities tend to let it down though. The shower and washbasin are actually IN the bedroom area. The toilet is divided off, but with a very flimsy thin 'plywood-type' door with large gaps top and bottom and no signs of any handle on the inside (why?) As a lone traveller, this is fine, but would give no privacy whatsoever if travelling as a couple. There is no wardrobe in the room, just a pole placed on the wall with 5-6 hangers on it.

We stayed for three nights with our 9 month old spaniel and were given a friendly welcome once we had mastered the automatic check in process.
The hotel is clean and the bed is comfortable but the room is the typical small layout with the third bed above the double. Not a great deal of space but everything you need (except a hairdryer) and would expect for this price.
Breakfast is very good, continental style, but with additional fruit and plenty of breads and pastries.
There is an outside seating area too which is well kept by the owner.
The position is excellent for dog walking along the river bank down to the sea and into the town.
We would definately recommend it and would readily stay here again.

Stayed here in July last year. Having stayed at an ibis before and after reading the good reviews we were sorely disappointed. We had paid quite a lot for three nights as well, so wouldn't say it was particularly budget. I think the main problem is the rooms are ridiculously small! We had to squeeze a cot bed in and quite a lot of luggage for a one year old! There was no air con and the room got so hot. Then having opened the windows we got bitten by insects!! The room was clean enough and the shower decent.
I would say one night minus a child would be my limit here (if at right price!)
On the plus point there is free parking and we never struggled to park. It's in a very accessible location with shops, restaurants, takeaways nearby and the seafront is walkable along the river. Love cabourg and would definitely recommend it as a holiday location.
