This was our second time at Pangea for dinner and it was a delightful experience. We ordered the special, which was a piece of fresh halibut that was seared, served with mussels on the side, in a delicious coconut curry sauce with vegetables. Everything was fantastic....the halibut was cooked to PERFECTION....the best piece of halibut that I've had in a very long time (only time better was a BBQ on the beach in Prince William Sound with halibut that we caught an hour previously).

We've lived in Anchorage for 40 years and there are several great restaurants in town, but this is one that will probably be our go-to place downtown. The service was excellent. The only small complaint is that the place is noisy, like a bistro, so a quiet dinner with your sweetheart is probably not in the cards. We also recommend going on a weekday night, as the restaurant isn't nearly as busy as on the weekends.

We ate here three times while in Anchorage for a workshop. The staff was very friendly, we had slow service one day and the manager/owner came and comped part of our meal due to it being slow. We hadn't even gotten annoyed yet, but he took the initiative. It was really nice to see how attentive he was. We had something different every day, I had the falafel one day, a coconut tomato basil soup, and great pasta dish. The rest of the group was equally pleased with their meals. If you have an adventurous palate and like ethnic inspired food, this is a great place, clean, good drinks and good diverse menu. I would eat here again... ha ha ate here three times in a week, so I guess so!

After the play at the performing arts center, we walked over to Pangea. It was already 10:15 pm, but the waitress seated us and took our order. The food was good and didn’t take long. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. Nice way to end the night

I walked 7 blocks in 20 degree weather to eat here tonight because it's one of the best restaurants in Anchorage, Alaska. Not only are they knowledgeable about different diets but will fix anything the way you like without the dirty looks. It can get a little loud during their peak times but nothing you can't live with. They are kind and polite to solos. I even caught the owner taking pictures of the food :) The first picture below are King Mushrooms. Very tasty, a little hard to cut. Had the Vegetable Wellington. Delicious. Remember if you are Vegan to tell them or they will include a dairy sauce with both dishes. Only disturbing thing was they were polishing the silverware but flopping in on the counter (question :was the counter clean?) then the person rolling it in the napkins was eating between the rolls. May not matter to you... I am a bit of a clean freak.

Decided to meet some friends for dinner, and decided it had to be somewhere we had not eaten before. Our decision was Pangea, and it turned out to be a good one. The restaurant is in downtown Anchorage across from the city center park which was all lit up for the season. We were promptly seated and greeted by pleasant, professional staff. Our waitress figured out quickly that we were intent on enjoying a drawn out evening as we perused the menu and wine list.

The appetizers we started with were incredible, and the waitress was very knowledgeable about wine pairings. Tried the Yucca fries, which were not my favorite, although the house aioli was very good. The "Surf & Turf" was absolutely amazing! I ordered an additional order.

Over the course of a couple of hours we enjoyed the suggested wines and several of the appetizers before moving on to the entrees. The food was all perfectly prepared and delicious. We will definitely be back in the near future to continue exploring the menu here!
