Just stumbled onto this wine bar and when we went to back terrace, we realized it was right on the river. Also we were a bit hungry and so ordered a few things and each was beautiful and just delicious. And best of all, everyone in there was French so no having to listen to English while on vacation in France.

A real local hangout (I felt like the only one who didn't know everyone else!), they do cocktails and French-style tapas. Sit on the terrace right by the canal. It's a charming place with friendly staff and good food that doesn't come in enormous portions (or prices!).

This is a great little place with a cosy shaded terrace, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the village in a quiet location on the river. Lots of good choices for wine, plus a small selection of dishes, mostly tapas style. During pauses in conversation, enjoy the local ducks and water otters as they go about their business just mètres from your table.

This was a very nice bar and tapas locale. We would definitely return. We often find that the challenge of tapas, is to keep the interest high on a varied and frequently changing selection.
At Sous la Robe, we started with an amazing shrimp-wrapped in chorizo and then wrapped in a phyllo and lightly fried. Extraordinarily good. We also had a charcuterie platter which was also top notch. After that the selections were good but boring...a chopped meat patty with an underpowered sauce, and then a zucchini and Parmesan baked dish. Both were pedestrian.
The atmosphere is inviting and modern, with plenty of outdoor space, half of which overlooks one of the rivulets of this charming town.
I would offer the management one piece of advice...it should not take 20 minutes from the time that you ask for the "addition" to finally have someone come and take the payment. This is not just advice from an American couple, but it took the French couple next to us even longer to have their card run for the tab. It seems there should be more than one staff member capable of the task.
All in all, we would return for another try.
