“Great Place to stay”
Reviewed May 29, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We have thoroughly enjoyed a week at Viking Villa. We are a family group of 8 people and have found the villa very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The hosts Maggnus and Inga are very helpful and are a font of knowledge on local facilities and things to do in Iceland. Maggnus' friend Joi took us on an amazing 4 wheel drive 'Super Jeep' trip to see the glacier which was a day to remember. The nearby secret lagoon in Fludir was also a welcome haven. Thanks for a great stay, highly recommended.

“Perfect home away from home!”
Reviewed April 4, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed at Viking Villa 1 from 24th - 29th March 2015. When we saw the pictures and the reviews, and the price, we thought for sure there must be a catch - surely it couldn't be as good as it looked! But it was and then some! We could not have asked for a better place to come back to after our long days exploring this amazing country.

Upon arrival we had a very warm welcome from Magnuss, who spent time showing us around the Villa and telling us about the area. The Villa was clean, comfortable and very spacious. The underfloor heating meant that it was always warm, despite very cold temperatures outside and over a foot of snow! The facilities were excellent, with everything you need to cook at home if you didn't want to eat out and cooking staples such as oil and spices left by previous guests / Magnuss' family. The local shop in the village had plenty to get by, though larger supermarkets are available in the nearby Selfoss.

I really can't recommend this holiday rental enough. The location was excellent, a great place to access Reykjavik, the Golden Circle and the sights along Route 1. We even managed to see the Northern Lights from the Villa, an extra special treat. The house was so comfy, cosy, spacious and well equipped - including a very fancy shower!

Thank you very much Magnuss and Inga for such a wonderful stay, I am certain we will be back again!

An excellent holiday home and probably the best equipped that we have ever stayed in. Everything we needed was there and the highlights were the under floor heating and the multi-jet shower with built in radio. The whole place was very spacious and well laid out and had all kitchen mod cons, Induction Hob, Microwave, Fan Oven, Dishwasher plus washing machine in the utility room upstairs. The adjoining tower was great to relax in or to watch out for the Northern Lights at night. We were lucky enough to see them on our first night there and then again on the second night although not quite so brightly. Outside was great for photographing the Northern Lights as there is a 360 Deg view, the only difficult bit was deciding which way to point the camera. Fludir is well situated to visit all of the main attractions in the Golden Circle and also within reach of most of the southern attractions.
Inga and Maggnus were excellent hosts and always ready to offer advice and help if required, plus we were able to hire a car from them which saved a lot of uncertainties dealing with hire companies.
Also included free WiFi and in the village there was supermarket, fuel pump (Self Service) A swimming pool fed by natural hot springs, a couple of restaurants a Wine store and a Mushroom packing company where you can get cheap mushrooms (Ask Maggnus)
All in all probably the best holiday home that we have ever stayed in.

“truly amazing place”
Reviewed August 18, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This property is extremely well equipped and furnished to a high standard
The location and views are amazing.
Magnuss and Inge are really friendly and helpful.
This propety is within easy driving distance of a number of tourist hot spots - Geysir, Gulfoss.
Also within driving distance of less well known places, such as the black sand beaches of Vik, Skalfoss.
There is an amazing outdoor thermally heated pool with its own geysir at Fluidir - the secret lagoon - iceland's oldest swimming pool

“Wonderful holiday home from home”

Viking Villa is a wonderful house on the outskirts of Fludir, a small town nestled within the Golden Circle. It is also in easy reach of the capital Reykjavik. The house has brilliant facilities, with a really well equipped kitchen, and even a fitted radio in the waterfall style shower! The garden has gorgeous views, with hills up close and glaciers in the distance. There are also chickens outside (you can eat the eggs you collect), and a trampoline in the summer. The owners, Magnus and Inga, are lovely, and incredibly helpful and a font of knowledge about places to visit, local foods to try etc. You can also hire a car from them for your stay, at rates much cheaper than from the airport car hire companies. We would definitely recommend the Viking Villa as a great place for families to stay.

“A home from home located close to Golden Circle”
Reviewed February 22, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Viking Villa is one of the nicest holiday homes we have had the pleasure of staying in. It is spacious with plenty of seating areas. A well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and lovely furnishings with amazing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Located just over an hours drive from Reykjavik you are centrally located to enjoy the sights of the Golden Circle. If you visit in winter and the conditions are right, you may see the Northern Lights, which we enjoyed from the amazing viewing tower which has its own fridge! Outside there is lots of space for children to burn off energy and there are chickens onsite which supply lovely eggs for breakfast. Maggnus and Inga are excellent hosts, informative, welcoming and quick to respond to emails prior to travel.

“Superb villa in a fantastic location”
Reviewed January 17, 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Our second trip to Iceland and the Viking Villa was a fantastic treat.
Inga and Maggnus are superb hosts and we received a warm welcome and great hospitality from them - Their advice was as ever excellent, helping us get the best out of our break.
We toured the Golden Circle again and ventured west into Rekjavik, enjoying the culture and entertainment on offer, and had a great day at the Blue Lagoon. The weather was a stunning mix giving us about a seasons worth in a few days, and as ever the spectacular seclusion of the villa gave us the opportunity to rest and relax despite being a short drive from everything you could want to visit.
We highly recommend it!
