We had slept terribly in our campervan the previous night, so our room at Hrauneyjar was delicious! The bed was comfortable, the room bright with a tranquil view over the highlands. Although the hot water in the shower didn't last very long, we found the breakfast buffet to be excellent, and Helga at reception was very helpful.

The facilities are basic, but they are clean and comfortable, and relatively good value for what you pay for accommodation in Iceland.

This hotel with Icelandic Farm Holidays was a pleasant surprise in the middle of lava fields. It was small, clean and quiet. The restaurant was wonderful. There is a hot tub available but we did not use it. This was the only hotel we encountered that had a box of tissues in the room! We would stay again.

Its all about expectations one look at the photo ia was really prepared for a tin shack in the middle of no where, which is eactly what it is. but i was very impressed by how friendly the staff are.

The room was new, clean and comfortable in a motel sort of way. Its funny how everyone has to take your shoes off at the entrance.

Breakfast was canteen like but more than acceptable.

One surprised if you arrive just after a couple of bus loads of Chinese tourist be prepared for the whole restaurant being over run by Chinese! I just came all the way from Asia it was a bit of shock.

This is a no-frills place to rest your head when visiting Landmannlaugar or the highlands. We stayed in an "economy double" which was very tiny - barely enough room to open our luggage. The bathroom was basically in the shower, which was kind of weird. The onsite restaurant made pretty good burgers, and the room came with a free breakfast buffet (cereal, bread, cold cuts, juice, milk). While I wouldn't run back to this guesthouse, there was nothing wrong with it and it is the closest lodging to Landmannalaugar.

This hotel is very conveniently located for those who travel in central Iceland, just on the main road, with private parking and gas station. Restaurant is good, nothing fancy but food has good quality. Rooms are very small but clean and practical, and you would expect that from such place. Good sleeping quality. The facility also includes Highland center which has all needed information for travelers. Most impressive was the surrounding area - when you walk away from the hotel you really feel yourself on the Moon, just a stone desert around with big mountains on the horizon, a sort of romantic feeling really.
