We are a family of 5, 2 adults 3 kids aged between 2 to 7 and brought our small dog.
We had a fantastic weeks holiday here at Mountshannon the house was very spacious, clean and peaceful.
We loved the little village and the Aistear park was beautiful with a small playground that the kids loved and had so much fun in the walled maze and was lovely to walk down to the lake and harbour, everything was so clean around.
The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that the shop on the corner of the lake side houses had closed down as it would of been handy to get milk and bread in the mornings but about a 5/10 min walk there was a small garage to get a few bits from.
We had a few takeouts from the snug restaurant which did really tasty pizzas and there was also a mobile van takeout parked at either the harbour or the park and also a few pubs to enjoy a well deserved drink.
A car is needed to venture out but we were expecting that so it didn't bother us.
The next village Scariff had a few more places to eat, a supermacs and a Centra shop which was great to get a few bits from and also a bigger playground next to the river, We also drove to killaloe a few times which is a beautiful village and plenty of things to do and eat and the kids loved the ice cream shop there.
Found lots of lovely walks near by which was perfect to walk our dog and the kids loved it especially the fairy trail they found.
We had a wonderful stay here and will definitely stay here again.
from the first contact to the last the lads who run this place are so nice and helpful. Also very relaxed. The houses are lovely, and well stocked, as they said before we arrived we have everything except towels. There was 2 dishwasher tablets there and a sponge, and the 2 bathrooms had small towels. My daughter left a blanket there and when I called they couldn't have been more helpful, will send it to me and charge the card.
Mountshannon is lovely for a break.
