Description: Located in the heart of Harvard Square, Harvest celebrates the modern New England table. We present contemporary New England cuisine focused on the region’s freshest ingredients. Tucked along a cobblestone pathway in the heart of the square, Harvest provides a welcome respite from the fast-paced world outside. Inside is a combination of soothing earth tones, supple banquettes, dark woods and pastoral art that lend an air of understated elegance. Our newly re-designed open kitchen, spacious bar, and fireside dining complete the comfortable interior. Graceful linden trees offer shade to the Garden Terrace, our private garden café that boasts fireside dining, blooming flower boxes, and heaters for the chilly nights of spring and fall. Noted by Travel & Leisure as a Harvard Square classic, Harvest has also been lauded for its New England Cuisine by Zagat, Boston Magazine and The Improper Bostonian.

Harvest was both spacious and cozy, with outdoor seating and an active bar. We ordered the three-course prix fixe menu whose ingredients came from a local farm. The cucumber soup was topped with creme fraiche and savory tastes such as pickle and prosciutto. The entree was perfectly seared sea bass with three fat vegetable tortellini, served in a thin broth which became seasoned with each fork-pierce. The meal finished with a berry tart (including currants!) on shortbread edged with sesame seeds and a dab of smooth lemon ice cream. Service was attentive and wines pricey but good, with a thoughtful and knowledgeable advice on what to order with the dishes. The restaurant manages to be both tucked away and centrally situated in Harvard Square.

We recently took a very large group for dinner here. We had several bottles of wine, cocktails and everyone ordered off the regular menu. They gave us a very nice private room but all parts of this restaurant are attractive. Especially the outside patio. Wine and drinks were replenished quickly as needed. The cocktails are delish and the wine prices are reasonable. I think between all of us everything on the menu was ordered. Standouts included the seafood offerings. Oysters, seafood towers, the halibut and New England seafood bowl were fantastic. The desserts that were ordered looked like works of art. It was a great experience overall thanks to the chefs and our very nice and efficient servers. We will definitely be back next year! Thanks !

Discretly located just steps away from HGSE, on the walkaway, is one of the top restaurants in Cambridge, with an assortment of dishes that go from sophisticated to casual, as their fantastic lobster sandwich which is an icon, that will go great, with a glass of Californian Chardonnay.

The bar has an excellent assortment of rums and genuine Mexican tequilas, like Don Julio, that if requested frozen as a starter, will make your meal perfect. Also, perfect to start an evening with good friends.

This place is a MUST while in Cambridge !, even if it isn’t economic is totally worth it.

Enjoy and smile !

The Harvest has been in Harvard Square for decades and remains our favorite, upscale restaurant. The food is always delicious (but not cheap). The tables are close together so the noise can get high, but the meal is worth this. We highly recommend The Harvest
