We stayed here four nights in July. We had a nice room with a huge balcony with the view of the bay which we used each night. The room was basic but clean - although we would have liked a safe in our room. The hotel has no parking but it is easy to get free parking around the hotel. Breakfast was basic and served buffet style and outside on the patio which was nice. The staff were a little standoffish and not the most attentive.

There are some problems with this hotel though. We didn't like that there were signs EVERYWHERE in our room to tell the guest to do this and to make sure that you do that - like to flush the toilet gently - what does that even mean? They have to stop with the signs! If you come down to breakfast near the closing time then nothing is left and not replenished. The other kicker is that you only get one cappuccino per person each morning and if you want a second you have to pay for it. Not a good way to start your morning! Lastly, you can't take a piece of fruit or a bit of bread (for example) from the breakfast areas - if you are caught (like some guy) then you are made to pay for it. Talk about tight fisted. All throughout our time In Italy, we saw people do this and it was even encouraged by some hotels (often giving foil for the day sandwich that we saw one person do). The way the staff handled the situation with this gentleman was not very professional and just showed that the hotel was all about profits. Would I recommend it - sure - but just be aware of some of the pitfalls

We booked 11 nights here on Expedia not knowing much about the area. It was an hour and a half by car from Olbia airport through stunning rugged mountain scenery.

Cala Gonone until recent years could only be reached via a winding narrow road over the mountains that is so narrow we were pleased we had a tiny car as passing on meeting oncoming cars with no where to reverse back to could be challenging!

The main route is through a tunnel through the mountain where you come out to a breathtaking view of the bay far below with the village nestling at the base of the white limestone mountains.

There are beaches in the town with good swimming but the best are only accessible by boat where the waters are cobalt blue and turquoise and so clear they rival the Caribbean.

At first we thought the hotel a little dated and whilst the restaurant is perhaps a little ordinary we had a lovely spacious room with a covered terrace with table, chairs and sun beds with sea views in two directions which was welcome in the heat.

The room had a minibar which we cleared out to use as a fridge for drinks and beer and to store cheese etc that enabled to make lunch and picnics from the room.

The room was cleaned every day with a large comfortable bed and occasional furniture with a safe.

It's a few steps down to lovely shingle beach with crystal clear water.

We had an amazing holiday and would recommend this hotel that whilst not as stylish or chic as some in the town is friendly and simple and a very pleasant place to stay.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The rooms are spacious and clean. The rooms give a feel of a fancy 70s beach hotel, but with modern comfort and bathroom. The hotel has no parking, but it was fairly easy to find some free street parking within walking distance. FYI, the white spaces are free while the blue spaces require payment.

The location was great with barely 1 minute to the closest beach, and walking distance to the rest. The seaside restaurants are also a few minutes walking. The breakfest was simple, but tasty. We did not try the hotel restaurant. Overfall a very nice stay.

Very nice little hotel with clean, spacious rooms with big balconies and a beautiful panorama view over the Oresei bay. Make sure to book sea-side. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Good breakfast at the cool terrace with view with fried eggs and bacon, fresh fruit and local charcuterie. We also enjoyed a good meal at the restaurant. If you prefere simplicity, view and friendliness over 5 star amenities definitely your place.

We took a quad room me, my wife and our 2 daughters. The place is clean, very conveniently located near the beach, restaurant and the port. The owner is a very pleasant person and he know the history of Cala Gonone. Breakfast was good and we loved the verandah at the bar with those secular trees!
