Owner description: The White House and Museum of the Confederacy are located in downtown Richmond's historic Court End neighborhood, just a few blocks from Capitol Square. Guided tours of Jefferson Davis' executive mansion leave from the Museum lobby throughout the day and typically last around 45 minutes. Three floors of exhibits in the Museum chronicle the war years through the personal belongings of Confederate leaders like Robert E. Lee as well as those of common soldiers and citizens on the homefront.

Original Uniforms made the sets and displays come alive. Wish I had more time. Reasonable admission, must tour adjoining Capital Home of President Davis. Outstanding guides.

Our tour guide, Charles, was awesome! We walked away really feeling like we had a better grasp of the "War Between the States".

Sometimes our history is sad and hard to comprehend but the exhibits here are well worth the trip downtown. We've taken guests to this musuem and we came away with a different perspective of life during this time than we had before.

“Nice museum with an interesting collection of artifacts.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2012

I went to this museum on a whim one day with my Dad. We both were impressed with this place. I was even more impressed with the knowledge of some of the staff. They were able to give very interesting stories about various items in the museum. I would recommend this place.

“A must for a Southern girl”

Interesting, quiet museum. What struck me the most was how it has barely survived in urban sprawl. I'm sure soon political pressure will deem it unnecessary to keep, so you better visit soon.
