Had late lunch/early dinner here and we were very pleased. Came in about 3, and that is when they switch from lunch to dinner menu. Happy hour starts then as well.
Restaurant was dead, staff doing prep for dinner..cleaning etc. We ate at bar and had a very courteous but unobtrusive bartender, answered all questions , served drink and food efficiently but she was occupied doing her work and didn't want to hang around and chat which was great.
My wife got a Sea Ghost, 4 different rums ( 1 oz of each) topped w/151 and orange & pineapple juice. Served in 1/2 carafe and she loved it. Had a punch but well made, $ 15. They will only serve any customer just two, my wife stopped after one. The wine list is not large but well chosen and very fair pricing. I had a bottle of Mer Soleil Reserve for $ 36 that was perfect for seafood we had.
Started w/a crab artichoke dip w/seasoned toasted baguette slices. You see this dip everywhere but this is as a good a rendition as I have ever had. The bread was seasoned well, dip hot and obvious chunks of crab, avocado and pimento...cheesy creamy. Was a sure 10 as an app and plenty to share for two. My wife got the fod, Rockfish w/mashed and asparagus. A hunk of moist Rockfish w/bernaise, you can order 5 different sauces w/your fish. The fish was hot as were vegetables. She loved her dinner, I tasted the fish and I felt excellent as well. I got the flight of roasted oysters. 2 of each type the restaurant offers. Rockefeller, green goddess and two w/a truffle butter, pureed mushroom, and parmesan Reggiano topping. I'm an oyster not and loved them. Favorite two were the Rock's and truffle butter. They were piping hot like everything else. Cooked perfectly, very hot but oysters still plump juicy not over cooked. None of the toppings were two heavy. The Rock's didn't have hollandaise and I felt better w/out just crumble bacon and creamy spinach but not too much. I asked for some bread if they had some, I love to sop the juice. The bartender returned in a short time w/sliced loaf of hot bread a/creamed butter (no charge). Surprisingly the bread is the very same loaf you get at Bonefish. It's a good product.
We couldn't have enjoyed our ' Dunch ' anymore. Had not been here in over a year won't be long before we return though.
