Whilst staying in San Ginesio, we were affected by the earthquake that struck the Lazio/Umbria/Marche regions and had to leave our rented villa early.
We decided to go north and booked into VPH at very short notice (about 1500 on the same day of arrival)
We didn't reach the hotel 'til around 2200 hours but they had upgraded our rooms and turned the air-conditioning on so the rooms were cool.
All the staff were very friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable and free car-parking and wi-fi is also provided.
From a location perspective, it's a 5' drive to the station to take the train to Venice, which is an easy way to do the trip. The hotel also has bicycles for use by guests. For us, this was the perfect location.
Beds were very comfortable, towels were plentiful and new; robes and slippers were provided; breakfast was excellent, including a whole frame of honey (which is a great site for a beekeeper like me to see)
The hotel serves evening meals but they will happily recommend and book a restaurant for you (the one they booked for us was so good, we went two nights running) with a discount offered by the restaurant, when booked before 1500H and a hotel card.
Reception staff spoke a variety of languages (I heard Italian, English, German and French) the rooms had small safes in the wardrobes.
There is a tennis court, pool and a large garden-bar next to the pool.
Guests ranged from couples, to families with younger children and teenagers.
All in all, a brilliant base if you want somewhere quiet to base yourself to explore the environs. Aqualandia and the beaches at Jesolo are about an hour's drive away.
