The Il Palazzin Hotel is a very clean, comfortable hotel in Qawra 10-15 minute walk from Bugibba. The staff are lovely and helpful and Simon, the manager, will, as others have said go above and beyond to make your stay a great one. We were arriving late at night and worried if we would be able to find somewhere to get food close by, We e mailed Simon and he said they could leave us a packed lunch in our room ready for our arrival.Sure enough there were 2 plates of fresh sandwiches, with salad and fresh fruit in our room when we arrived-what a lovely gesture. The hotel (in fact Malta as a whole) was fairly quiet due to Covid 19. Flights had only restarted 3 weeks before, so we felt very safe around. The room was spacious with a small balcony that had a pool and a sea view (around the cranes!). It had everything we needed and is near to bus stops to explore the island-which we did! We really enjoyed the food in the restaurant-not a huge choice but enough to please most people. For breakfast-cereals, bacon, sausages, eggs, beans, fruit salad and yogurts etc. Also delicious coffee! In the evening there is a choice of 3 starters, 2 meat dishes and 1 fish dish and desserts with the most delicious cakes and tarts among others. The only problem was the building work going on all around the hotel-in fact all over the island. It is VERY noisy and dusty and not very pleasant to walk around, but this is not the hotel's fault. Instead of lying by the pool (which was affected by the dust) we used the rooftop terrace for sunbathing which was fine. Simon did say they have an arrangement with another hotel close by to use their pool facilities if we preferred, but to be honest we're not swimmers so we were happy enough where we were. On our last day we had a late flight and were allowed to keep our room until we left, at no extra charge-another nice gesture. We had a lovely holiday and would happily recommend this hotel, if you don't mind the building work around. Thank you to Simon and all his staff at the Il Palazzin for your friendliness and warmth, among all the challenges you are facing! Kind regards-Anthony and Sue
