I stopped by after a quick lunch nearby. I was in the mood for something sweet. Wow! Although the restaurant/deli was quite busy, the associates were cordial and efficient. A true Italian delicatessen---cheeses, pickles, etc. I noticed many folks were getting lunch special combos and sat in the nearby booths. I got my own custom dessert sampler to go. What a treat! The baklava and cannoli were pure heavenly. They were indescribably delicious. Yum! I wished I had gotten a lunch special combo to go. Next time...

So after reading the positive reviews, I decided to give this deli a try. I love a great Italian sub and recently the one at Penn station has become my favorite. Nonetheless, I went in for lunch and ordered an 8 inch Italian classic to check it out.

Here's what I will say about it: the meats, the cheese, the lettuce and tomato w Italian dressing was fantastic! The problem to me, was the roll. It was very boring, soft and flavorless. When I think of Penn station's roll, which has a slight crunch to it but a soft interior, there's no comparison. Now if I could take the meat and everything else from this place and combine it with Penn station's roll, I'd have the ultimate Italian sub.

I arrived early in Manassas for a sales call and decided to have lunch in order to kill some time.
Using Yelp* as a reference point I found Manassas is loaded with culinary options and decided to narrow things down to a shopping center where my call is scheduled.
There's a franchise I like known for their gourmet subs, BUT, a few doors down is A-Deli. The reviews sold me on A-Deli. A small , somewhat cheesy storefront with abbondanza located beyond the entrance. Deli, sandwiches, subs, salads and culinary eccentricities abound. Reminded me, a little, of a dive in DC and another in Baltimore. This place is the real deal. I settled for the 8" Classic Italian Sub packed with salami, pepperoni, cappocolo, prosciutto ham, mozzarella and provolone with onion, banana pepper (the house hots) tomato and mayo sealing the deal. I almost forgot about the pickle included when sub was wrapped.
The sub was sheer artistry. And it was delicious. And an incredible find for $7.99.
The national operation two doors down must be scratching their heads as to why they're not attracting customers. Maybe the folks scouting for sites took this hole in the wall for granted. Shame. This was my first visit and I am a believer. Recommend. Now I gotta go and sell something!!

I hit this little place up after reading about it on TripAdvisor and it did not disappoint. This was the best Italian sub I have had that I can remember. I got it to go and took half home which my daughter who is a 7 year old Italian sub except. It passed with flying colors! The bread is fresh and the meat as well! The oil, vinegar, and seasoning is spot on. I love joints like this and I will definitely be a regular now!

this little deli in Manassas is great. They have all kinds of sandwiches or you can buy meat and cheese by the pound and make your own. Also fresh bread and also sweets like Baklava. They also offer party size platters and sandwiches.
