My aunt and I went on My visit to Atlanta during Christmas. We had purchased 3 tickets online for my grandmother to go with us. When the time arrived my grandma was sick and they would not refund or postdate the ticket. They have a nice chic a fila dinner. The house and the outdoor properties are beautiful sights.

We enjoyed the whole place, but especially liked the Swan House! It is very relaxing and informational at the same time. The tour guides at the homes were very good too. Highly recommended!

Extensive Olympic History if you are into the Olympics. We did very much enjoy the Historic Homes Tour. The presenters did a very nice job of recreating early Ga life.

Just seems that the whole endeavor hasn't gotten itself pulled together; Swan House is fine (docent a little flighty) but exhibits (except for Folk Art Room) were dull, dull, dull. The gift shop is a "must" especially if you appreciate North Georgia Face Jugs. Wouldn't recommend unless you've run out of things to do!

New to Atlanta and want an overview of its past? can't beat the History Centre. The civil war and city history galleries are excellent. The native American gallery a little sparse. Admission includes tours of the Smith farm and Swan House. Both are worth visiting. The volunteer guide in the Smith farm was not very welcoming. She rushed through and seemed to treat the group like a bunch of schoolkids who needed to be controlled rather than a group of interested adults who wanted to learn more (which we were). Couldn't have been more different in the Swan House where we were treated very well indeed.
Catering in the history centre is limited - Chick Fil-A from a hot bag rather than cooked fresh. Adequate but not recommended. Lots of school groups so be prepared to change galleries if you want to avoid hordes of kids.
