I have been a grateful member of Friends of Emory Music. This is the best deal in town. There are so many lectures and performances free or with admissions well worth the price. Typically, I am there once a week for an event. There are great restaurants near by. The campus is lovely for a stroll.
Always comfortable here, they make every effort to make sure the patients are comfortable and informed, I would recommend it to anyone for medical care. ,
As the title says, Emory University is in a unique setting. It's considered an urban school but has woods nearby. At the same time, it has easy access to things in Atlanta. Emory also runs a shuttle system around campus and to surrounding areas but I did not try it on my recent visit. A disclaimer: this review is for visitors, not for potential or prospective students and their parents.
As a former Emory faculty member I find my self impressed not only with the bricks and mortar changes since I left, but more so with the academic directions into which the University is moving, especially in the area of integrating the natural science, the social sciences, and the humanities. Well done!
If I were stuck in Atlanta for an extra day and it was rainy or cold, or sweltering hot, I'd catch a Lift to Emory to let me off as close to the Carlos Museum as possible. The exhibits are educational and aesthetic. The Rose Archive is beginning to have exhibits which are also worth a visit. I'm an academic type person so take that into account. It might not be your cup of tea
In Atlanta for an English teacher conference (NCTE), we had the opportunity to visit Emory with the Folger Shakespeare group, who took us to see a First Folio. (Really!) The whole campus and its surroundings are beautiful. I would have loved to be a student there! We were super impressed with the architecture as well as the actual displays. We also enjoyed all the local people we met. Definitely worth a visit.
