“Great Southern Hospitality”

I have stayed at this hotel twice. Management is very hospitable. The rooms are clean and spacious. The little courtyard in the middle of the building is a great place to sit and relax and enjoy the breeze and is very conveniently located downtown within walking distance to the Marta. Will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I chose this hotel due to its price and proximity to the World of Coke and Georgia Aquarium. The walk to both attractions was about 10 minutes. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the CNN Center. We also saw a Braves game at Turner Field. Driving time to the Blue Lot was about 10 minutes.

The room had all of the basics including a flat-screen TV with HD channels. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The shower size is normal bathtub sized. The sink/vanity is separate from the shower/toilet area. The room opens to the outside court yard which is a great place to sit in the evening and view the Atlanta skyline. There was also free Wifi throughout the entire hotel, to include our room.

The breakfast was decent. It had hot items such as sausage patties and eggs. The eggs were runny. There was also a small assortment of doughnuts, bagels, cereals, and make your own waffles.

Parking was $15/night.

Nice refurbed lobby area. Room was very good with a comfy bed. Shower head looked like it was out of Star Trek, being about a square foot in size, so the overall flow was a bit weak, but probably good for water conservation. Very central location to downtown.

small economy hotel, nicely redone rooms and clean. very nice staff and real eggs scrambled for breakfast not powder! Convenient - about 100 yards from the MARTA, came straight to the hotel from the airport. plenty of restaurants nearby, walking distance to World of Coke, a great GA aquarium (world's largest, i was told) and Phillips Arena. Now the negative, Elevator is still old and loud; sounds like it is going to fall apart. House keeping knocking on your door at 9 am; that's a no no! Most of all, at 7:30 am, the carts were being pushed around on those old tiled hallways with deep grooves, louder than the police siren! Put BIGGER rubber wheels on those cleaning carts!!!!!

Room Tip: upper floors in the corner would be best, away from elevator or middle of hallway.

Stayed 2 nights. Location was very good. Walked to aquarium, coco-cola and cnn food court. Many different types of fast food, salad bar & not an arm & leg for them. No problems walking any where. Saved on parking fees and traffic. Kids playground across from world of Coke. Let them get the run & jump out. Small rooms but like new with the recently renovated rooms. Full beds for the double room, short & small for 2 (one 6 ft tall) but worked. Breakfast was hot and many things to choose from. Parking was ok. Trucks and SUV's have to park in next covered parking garage. We parked truck for 2 days and when we left no problems. Can park next to front door or in street to unload & load to rooms. Staff was helpful and worked to make stay a pleasant one. (A cooperate man from hotel was there and not nice almost knocked me down Friday am trying to get to little square room with others after barking at staff .. No excuses for bad behavior tell him! But he was over looked being the kind of guy he was.) All in all the stay was great! The room was looking out over the street and glad they put the block out drapes to block out the street lights, had to look for them back behind all of the others. Could hear the others in the outside hallway and the carts going down them. Room looked like the pictures and shower was good, no tub. The price was better then many others downtown. I liked the orange water in the workout room. After walking back I would go and get a cup of it to cool off. Nice touch! This was just off court.

Room Tip: park in front at first and they will are very helpful. Drive a car if want to park in hotel garage.

Overall this is a great hotel - its located centrally and is easy walking distance to all major attractions in Atlanta down and mid town. I had only one problem - the noise! The hotel is structured around a courtyard which funnels sound directly up towards the rooms. If you are booking here - make sure you request a room that faces away from the courtyard. Also - parking is not free (it should be) - it was $15.00 per night - something that was not clearly advertised by the hotel until I arrived.

I will say that the rooms were well furnished and comfortable and the breakfast room was good too. If I was to go back to Atlanta, I would stay here again - just not in any room that faces the courtyard. I should note that the staff were quick to act when I called down to complain....so that's a good note to end on.

Happy Trails

Room Tip: Do not take a courtyard room - too much noise.
