We believe this restaurant has had a change of ownership - as this is the only rational explanation for the standard of food and service diving over a cliff since our friends last visited.
Service wasn't unfriendly - just incomprehensibly slow given the empty dining room.
Lamb dishes were enjoyed, but 4 of the 5 'fillet' of beef we ordered were simply inedible. What wasn't indigestible gristle was cloying fat.
I was told that this is what fillet is in Spain and I'm normally willing to forgive and even appreciate cultural variation - but whatever cut of beef this was, it wasn't fit for human consumption. Avoid at all costs.
Just to add insult to injury, the second bottle of red wine we ordered was brought to the table chilled as if it were a Chablis.
Deeply frustrating experience.
