“Immaculate, quiet hide-a-way right outside the city”
Reviewed 21 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This is a 1/1 apartment (sort of) on the ground floor of the owner's home (completely separate, private entrance). It's bigger than it appears in the pictures. It's comfortable and suited our family of 4 just fine. The front door is in the bedroom which I thought was odd, but it's up off the road and private so it works out fine.

There isn't a kitchen really, just a small sink and counter with a toaster oven and a mini fridge. The bathroom is beautifully updated with a heated!! floor and terrific water pressure.

The place is immaculate, but comfortably appointed so it feels home-y. The only things I would add are 1) a larger trash can and 2) a tv in the bedroom.

Thanks Shauna!
Everyone loves the radiant heat floors (when it's cold) and the 12' high ceilings really do add spaciousness. We talked about a TV in the bedroom, and just thought it was to enjoyable without it... ; )

“Lovely place, close to everything”
Reviewed 1 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

The apartment met all our expectations: peaceful, clean, nicely furnished, shady sitting area, close to Muir Woods and many hiking trails. Mill Valley has a small town, yet cosmopolitan feeling, with pleasant cafes and good shopping.
There were maps and guides available for us to browse and plan our stay.
Our time was too short to explore San Francisco, which we would like to do next time. It's just a short drive across the Golden Bridge.
Highly recommended.

“Peaceful and lovely apartment close to everything we needed is great for 2 - 4 people.”

We stayed in this apartment for 4 nights. It was very convenient for visiting with nearby family. The stairs were a little challenging for us when we carried our duffelbag down, but not impossible.

We really liked this clean, quiet apartment in Tam Valley. The host was quite congenial and available by phone when we needed some help. (We expected to need a taxi early in the morning and John gave us 3 telephone numbers. (As it was, our family was able to take us to the Manzanita Valley bus stop nearby.)

A small well-equipped kitchenette was useful, although we did not prepare meals. Eating out was fun. The toilet is separate from the bathroom, which worked out very well for us. Nice bathroom, although the mirror was a tad high for the 5 foot guest. There is a large mirror in the living room. TV and CD players were available. Toys and coloring supplies for young children is a nice and thoughtful touch. I really enjoyed the local wining and dining magazines, as well as other local information, including maps and water fun magazines. The 33 stairs are not formidable and are good exercise. The home is on the side of a canyon. There is a lovely porch with table and chairs. Unfortunately, the weather was a little cooler than we expected.

Without a doubt, we will return here when our trips bring us to the area.

My wife and two kids arrived after a bit of a drive up from San Jose. We felt very welcomed into the place and were excited to see that all was just as advertised and ready. The living space is actually a bit bigger than it seems in the photos and we had no issues with space for the kids. The kitchenette is small and does not have an oven/stove, but the refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven all worked well for us. The bathroom is nice as mentioned. The toilet is in a separate room from the bath, but both are functional with good water pressure and water temperature. The owner is very responsive by email, text and phone and offered concierge service to a reasonable extent. There is no A/C, however, we found that in this particular part of the world it is not that necessary. We were offered a fan by the owner after we asked about the thermostat (which is only for the heated flooring). We never needed the fan anyway since opening the windows for a few minutes actually worked fine. We are from South Texas so we were just expecting issues with heat in June, but had none. The place is located pretty close to Walgreens, Subway and a couple of other specialty shops. It is not too far from Safeway, Whole Foods and all of the other shops in downtown Mill Valley. It is located very close to the 101 which is very convenient for trips into Sausalito, San Fran and Marin headlands. Going the other way, it is also not very far from Muir Woods and Muir Beach. We recommend staying here to anyone with up to 4 guests and those with young children.

THanks for the wonderful review, we're so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Yes, summer in the Bay Area can be chilly, so we've never found AC necessary.
Please consider ours your Home Away from Home in Mill Valley and come visit anytime.
