“Splendid”
Reviewed August 20, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

It was a wonderful five days. Our hosts were comfortably near but we felt very private. The cottage is beautifully constructed and decorated but I think that
when I return, I will bring a good frying pan. Eagle Head is magical! Our hosts were friendly, generous and helpful. We'd love to come back for a longer visit.

Thank you for the wonderful review Karen and Michael . I noticed the frying pan just before your visit, and I am going to replace it this week. So on your next visit we will have a suitable fry pan. Thank you. Cathie and Brian

“Breathtaking Oasis”
Reviewed June 29, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I appreciated the higher-end touches to the place as well as the charm of the hostess. The location was amazing and the view spectacular. There were enough windy times to buff up the surf, but there were also quieter reflective times to watch the moom move through the heavens. My battered spirit was restored in this beautiful spot. It was close enough to, yet far enough away from, people and amenities. Truly one of a kind.

“The perfect home base for a South Shore bike tour”
Reviewed May 19, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Imagine a small home you can come home to at the end of driving along Nova Scotia's south shore on your motorcycle. There's bike parking right underneath your accomodations. There's a deck overlooking the ocean and beach. There's a propane BBQ and fire pit. Inside is a one bedroom house. Everything you would expect to find is there, right down to the toaster and coffee maker.

Brian is a friendly host and the place was so nice we thought we could actually live in a place like it. You are only a few minutes from route 103, near Liverpool. You can also enjoy the scenic lighthouse route, once again, only minutes away.

We really enjoyed ourselves and have already recommended it to friends.

Thanks for the great experience Brian!

“Amazing getaway”

We were so lucky to have stumbled upon this ad. We stayed at this cottage during our September vacation and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The cottage itself was immaculate with many special touches (like the delicious fresh ground coffee!). The location was lovely and very private. With a beautiful view of the ocean from the bedroom and deck. Every evening we enjoyed walking along the shoreline. It felt like our own private beach! We also visited a few of the other beaches in the nearby area. Our ten month old golden retriever was welcome and he had a great time on his swimming vacation :). Brian was very hospitable. We will absolutely be back next year!

“Five perfect days and nights”

The place, and the location, could not have been better. The bedroom looked out onto the water, where you could watch the sun set. A modern and well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable living and dining area, a cozy porch, and a private outdoor grill. We took walks in the morning along the water, took trips during the day to the lovely seaside towns, and cooked seafood and steaks at the cottage in the evening.

“Great Vacation Rental on a Beautiful Beach”

Surf's Up is a wonderful place for a couple. It's location makes it an ideal base for visiting Nova Scotia's South Shore. Just one bedroom, but very spacious and well appointed with comfortable furniture, king bed, and everything you need in the kitchen, right down to a coffee maker supplied with fresh coffee beans. The unit is fairly new, everything was spotlessly clean. The views from both bedroom and living room area of the water are incredible! I enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evening, it is such a quiet and relaxing spot. A great place for a beach walk as well. This is all on an upper floor, so there is a set of outdoor stairs to navigate, but we had no problems. The owner Brian is a friendly, welcoming host who will be glad to give you suggestions on what to see and do in the area. There is a big "super store" only a few miles away for grocery & liquor. My husband and I regretted that we had to cut our visit short by one night after our travel plans changed, but totally enjoyed the 2 nights we were there. You could easily stay there for a long term vacation and be totally comfortable. Staying there was one of the highlights of our Nova Scotia trip, I highly recommend it.
