Oceanfront and relaxed

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 28, 2025via mobile
We were last here following Maria and it was in process of being rebuilt. Now with freshly painted cottages, repaired boardwalk. Many young families enjoying the placid protected beach. Beachfront snack bar. Pool clean and inviting we although didn’t use. On site restaurant serves standard Puerto Rican dishes w friendly service. Restaurant relatively quiet as many guests cook in their cottages. Restaurant with fabulous ocean open air view. Sleep to the sound of waves. This has been a favorite of ours in the past and so happy to see it back in full swing.

Place is simply awful! It was nearly impossible to stay there one night due to close to no air conditioning. The amount of roaches scattering around at night was horrific. I left after a sleepless night with no reimbursement for another night I was to spend there. The place is essentially a horror show, disgusting in every way possible.

Room tip: Pure garbage of a place.

This place is an absolute DREAM. Right on the beach, hammock, awesome pool that the kids loved, basketball, volleyball, playground. The water in the shower was marvelously HOT if you wanted hot water. The outdoor space was something from a movie. Hammock, nice chairs and dining table, outdoor swing, picnic table, etc. The outdoor space was HUGE! The beautifully painted casitas look straight out of a movie or story book. My husband had to tell me three times that it was time to leave- so hard for me to leave that hammock! The staff went out of their way to help us. We will tell everyone we know to make sure this place is part of their Puerto Rico itinerary. No need to explore- just staying on this property is an experience in itself!!

We were last here shortly after Hurricane Maria and were happy to be back. The restaurant is open air with beach view and open for breakfast, lunch and early dinner. There is also a poolside bar with snacks which was new since our last stay. Pool is sparkling clean. They have lost some of the walkway along the beach to storm damage/erosion. Great walking on the beach. Playa Jobos nearby has new places to discover for food also. We had an upper level room with two beds, microwave, coffee make(bring your own coffee) (b, small fridge. Cups/glasses were supplied. Plenty of towels and toiletries supplied. Plenty of hot water, if anything that is my only warning- be careful that you don't get scalded in the shower. We have now had four great stays here. So peaceful.

Roaches, poor structural conditions (cracked roofs), not organized at all, restaurant hours we went at 6:45pm and they were closing because the Chef “had to go”, but it was supposed to be open until 9:00pm, so you can’t plan a Family Dinner in this place. Extra guest, we were told days ahead upon our arrival that we would get a “couch” (which is fine) instead we got a floor mattress, yes, a mattress in the floor, kid size. They blame Maria for all of the issues, but nope, not buying it, it’s all the Hotel management fault, Hurricane Maria is like COVID, people keep dragging it to make excuses or receive benefits, when in reality they been gone for a while now.

I wouldn’t bring my family to this place again, many other place like this or Hotels cheaper and better. If you just like the beach area then just drive in but don’t stay and pay for this crap!

I have visited this place with my family for many years. The facilities are very nice and it is located on an excellent beach. The employees are generally very friendly and helpful. However, the management has allowed the deterioration of the facilities due to lack of maintenance. In our apartment the microwave had mold, the space was not very clean and the mattresses are old and uncomfortable. The pool was so dirty that no one could use it. The plan we had for a family reunion next year has been changed. It's a shame since it was our favorite place to vacation with the family.
