well designed rooms with all the right essentials - Restaurant for dinner was a bit of a disappointment as the 'push' was towards a buffet choice which we did not fancy. Instead we chose a-la-carte which did not meet anyones expectation ....! Wine ordered was out - second choice was a different one to winelist (maitre'd insisted it was almost same ...- lol) as local Pinot Gris is surely different to a pretty sweet Gewaurztraminer/Pinot Gris blend! Main meals (although same ordered) came in 3 very (!) different portions - and it were 'only' Fish&Chips for $22.50 a pop ....! And freshness of fish was questionable too.

Room Tip: if you prefer to sleep in in the morning try to get a room away from road - trucks get up early!

This is a large motel conveniently near the A2O trail. The rooms are fine - clean, Wi-Fi and hot water in the shower. They have one of the only bar restaurants serving dinner in town and it was nice that it was right there.

We stayed here as part of a touring group, and it fitted the bill very well for a night to stay en route.

Rooms were huge, although fairly dated. Our room overlooked the main road, but noise wasn't a problem.

The restaurant was efficient, and the food good and plentiful. Staff were all very pleasant.

Stayed for one night as a break on the way back to Dunedin via Omaru. Rooms are quite large but basic. We had a nice balcony to sit on in the evening sunshine and watch the hordes of chinese tourists sort themselves out.Reception staff were efficient and friendly. We opted to eat in the hotels restaurant as evening dining is quite limited in Omarama. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, good service and a choice of wine. Good nights sleep in a comfortable bed then back on the road.

Yes, the hottest day on South Island in Jan 18. There was no air conditioning in the room and no fan available in the hotel. (Only heatter) The staff (or the boss lady)was unhelpful, perhaps due to the hot weather. The bed was really soft and comfortable, yes! this is a definitely affordable hotel but.... I wouldn't recommend it without needed.
