Really enjoyed my stay in a "Garden Room". Not much of a view (2nd floor overlooking the parking lot, but this is Salt Lake City and the great view is 30 seconds away standing on the ground looking everywhere. Nice balcony, decent room even if it looked a bit 1970s (but very clean, roomy and well-equipped), and it comes with access to all of the amenities at the Grand America (the expensive place across the street ... a solid 60 second walk) and in the tower (nice lounge, beautiful lobby and a couple of shops). Staff were very friendly and helpful, the outdoor pool was closed (February) but I enjoyed the spa across the street and the Piano Bar across the street.
The tram stops right in front of the hotel: about $2.50 from the airport to the hotel (or a $25 taxi ride, flat rate).
And, for all you "Seven Habits" fans, the chain was founded by Steven Covey's grandfather (also Steven Covey) and is still run by the Covey family. Yes, they are Mormon (or LDS, as they prefer ... Latter Day Saints) and Yes, they serve alcohol.More
