This antebellum mansion has a nice little museum in the basement. Knowledgable docents give tours on the floors above, too. The museum benefited from furnishings used as props when the building was used a set for the PBS series "Mercy Street". I haven't visited since the series was axed. Hopefully, they were able to keep most of the furniture.

Second leg of the tour is center hill mansion built by the bolling family. One of the interesting facts is that the pbs series mercy street was filmed here.
The view out the front door shows the landscape of Petersburg and it’s beautiful this time of year with the changing colors of trees.

A local told me to visit this place so I did. The tour was very great. You get a detailed history of the place. It is worth seeing. The management of the place has changed hands many times so finding information on hours may be tricky.

Worth the time to tour...excellent with the right tour guide! If you are interested in the Civil War, this is a great place to visit to see how the rich were different.
