I helped the first year to get Rail Yard off the ground. I went to many meetings . I volunteered and spent a lot of time there . It has changed over the last couple of years .
There is good food, live music , art, events, classes . It is family friendly . Plenty of parking ( inside the gate is a small fee and outside the gate is free. ) All kinds of vendors set up shop and most items are handmade, local made. Lots of Diversity ! Leave your dog at home. If you must bring your dog it must be tied up outside . It opens in May and goes until the Fall season. 6 Blocks south of downtown ABQ, NM . Good places to buy fresh / local grown food .

Great spot to taste some of Albuquerque's local offerings. Delicious food; great coffee; fantastic local artists.

The Rail Yard Market operates May through October, Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It’s a great place for food of all kinds and has a variety of vendors featuring locally grown produce, fresh baked breads and pastries, and freshly prepared dishes on the spot. We enjoyed sampling food at several stalls, had Mongolian stir fry for lunch, and left with a few tasty snacks to enjoy later. The food was delicious and prices were reasonable. More than a grower’s market, the Rail Yard Market also includes many handcrafted items and art, as well as live music and demonstrations.

The rail yard itself is interesting to see. The industrial buildings are over 100 years old and were originally used to maintain and repair locomotives on the Santa Fe and Topeka rail lines. The historic buildings, in various stages of restoration and repair, have been used as filming locations for movies such as Transformers, Terminator Salvation, and The Avengers. Come hungry, bring cash, wear good walking shoes, and expect to see everything at a leisurely pace in one to two hours.

This market was a great experience. Everyone was happy and so nice to one another, not to mention the wonderful shops in and outside of the main market walls. The market made me think about doing an AirBnB on my next trip just so I could come here to buy a basket of vegetables. Great experience.

Like other places, Albuquerque has found a use for several of the giant structures at their old rail yards.

On the weekends, but check the website as its not every weekend, the rail yards are transformed into a market place with all sorts of things to buy, vegetables, art and many other things.

They also have a nice model train display that kids of all ages will enjoy.
