There has to be a better motel or hotel in Crescent City. We would not stay here again. The rooms were small. the beds were uncomfortable. The rooms were smelly. The whole place is quite dated, and looks a bit beat-up. There's no frig, microwave, breakfast. We even had diificulty accessing the ice machine. The rooms were actually fairly loud also. It's located right on Hwy.#101. the manager told me about the great location they have, but the truth is they are located less than a mile from most of the hotels/motels in Crescent City. So if you want to access the beach or Redwoods National Park, you can do it easily from a hopefully better motel/hotel less than a mile away. Really, I don't get the appeal of this motel.

On the positive side, the rooms were fairly clean and the rates for rooms are fairly inexpensive.

Room tip: Try a different motel

Crescent Beach Motel was just perfect for us! The views are amazing, the rooms are simple and the staff is so nice. I strongly suggest getting a room with the sliding glass door out to the ocean. This was a great place to stay especially on a road trip as it is literally on the 101. Very very happy with Crescent Beach Motel

San Francisco to Portland was the plan - up the Coast in 10 days - making stops whenever and wherever we wanted. We found the Crescent Beach Motel on day seven thanks to our Garmin girl and AAA. The fact that it was right on the beach was appealing and we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness (spotless!) of our room. Though our plan was to keep heading North, we liked the motel (and the area) so much that we stayed three nights. The room was small but quiet and comfortable. Towels and linens were nice enough, with our only complaint being flat lifeless pillows. The room rates are a bargain considering the location and cleanliness. The staff was friendly and very professional. No, the offereings are not the same as the big chain hotels or boutique inns, but, for those of us who adore the charm of a roadside motel, we highly recommend the Crescent Beach Motel.

Stayed here end of April for three nights.
Ocean view was superb. Worth the extra price, as the non-view rooms face the parking lot and road!
Amazed they escaped the tsunami from Japan, while the harbour was wrecked.
Room was nice and clean, comfy beds; lacked a fridge but the front desk let me put a couple of food items in their fridge. Oatmeal, fruit and tea/coffee for breakfast.
Beautiful walks in state park to the north, with wonderful redwoods. Interesting harbour with fascinating dykes to protect jetty. Worth going to see these massive concrete jigsaw puzzle pieces.
Look forward to staying here again.

The room is simple and clean, The motel has an immediate, easy access to a great beach. The staff is friendly and helpful. The harbor is just down the road as is The Chart House, a very good place to eat.

Room tip: Beach side!
