In 1930 my parents honeymooned in Triple R cottages in Estes Park. We returned for two weeks every year until I graduated from high school. Nothing has changed on the outside, except that the horse shoe pit is gone, but of course the interiors have kept up with the times. We stayed in one of the smallest cottages, the School Marm's. She must have been very small, maybe even a dwarf, and if we had taken our two lab mix dogs, we would have had to rent another cabin for them. It's the only place I've stayed where the door knob nudged me in the back when I was at the bathroom sink (with the door open). But none of this mattered. It was my birthday and with all the nostalgia as well, it was perfect. The cabin was super clean, the bed was just right, the kitchen, tho small was adequate with stove, sink, and the refrigerator, built into the wall. There is a heater in the bedroom and a small gas stove that would easily heat the whole place. Don't get me wrong. With the fad for tiny houses, it fit right in to the current trends. We'll go back. Maybe take the dogs and rent a bigger cabin.

Hello 3DQ, and wow! Thank you for such a wonderful, thorough, and fabulous review! We were chuckling as we read it - you're so right that the School Marm is really "cozy!" It's a great 'adventurer's base' for someone who wants to spend a lot of time in the mountains and just needs a soft and warm place to rest their head. We also absolutely LOVE that your parents honeymooned at Triple R and you chose to visit us this year - that is so special and meaningful! Thank you for taking the time to share your story and experience with us. We can't wait to see you (and your labs!) again soon! Thank you!

Some much needed R & R.
Stayed at the MinerCabin and really enjoyed it.
I am watching what I eat so having the kitchenette available was such an asset.
Woke up to a Spring snow storm but was warm and toasty in the Lil cabin.

We appreciate your positive feedback very much and hope to welcome you back to Triple R Cottages soon. Thanks again!

Just hubby and I, and having stayed in Estes for over 40 summer trips we know what is available. Easy to find and close to town and Rocky Mntn Ntl Park.
This little cottage was just right for two and had one of the most comfortable queen beds we have ever slept on! Everything was clean and the cabin decor was perfect and well done.
And it offered all the necessities as we unpacked and relaxed. Good cable TV reception, too.
Pricing was great at off-season rates!

Stayed here for our five year wedding anniversary. Complete disaster! We were looking for a relaxing location, and would have been less stressed had we just stayed home.

We have a 15 month old and there wasn't enough room for the play pen. That is how small it is! It is so cramped, even for two people.

We attempted to call the front desk to get a larger cabin or our money back for one of the nights, but they were booked and would charge $25 to cancel. In addition, if the shack didn't get rebooked, they'd charge us the full $225.

The cabin is right next to a busy road and a creek that had orange snow fence. Far from relaxing...I would highly recommend staying someplace else. Beware though-owners run five locations in the area.

On a good note, they did leave us a card and a bottle of sparkling apple cider in the fridge in honor of our anniversary

Hello NEhuntress: We are so sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay. We do try to provide the most honest and realistic expectation of our units, which is why we have individual pages on our site dedicated to photos of each one. We want you to know the exact property that you are getting so that you can make sure it works for your family. As you stated, we were sold out when you stayed with us so moving you to a larger unit was not an option although if possible, we certainly would have been happy to. We do try our best to go above and beyond for each guest (our Happy Anniversary wish with the card and sparkling cider is an example of that) and we are so sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your time.

My husband and I stayed at Triple R for 4 days while visiting Estes Park this August. We were planning to spend most of our time hiking Rocky Mountain National Park and wanted something quaint, close to nature, that would provide a place to land at night. This was exactly what we got. The cabins are modest, but clean. We had a small kitchen, grill and a nice little outdoor yard with a beautiful view and tons of wildlife. It was simple, but inexpensive and close to the park and local dining.

Although it's not the fanciest place we have stayed, it was a great value for the money! The water was intermittently warm enough to shower, wifi spotty and the bed a little soft, but I still give it 4 stars. I would recommend these cottages for couples visiting the area, families or friends looking for a place to land. The price can't be beat and the views and proximity to local amenities make it a gem.
