When we first arrived, I was a little worried as we drove up, up, up the bumpy, pot-holed, barely paved side street to Machin's Cottages. But once we got there, the cottage was great! As someone else wrote, vintage but clean. We got a 2 bedroom since there were no king size beds and we are both tall.
The kitchen is small but has a gas oven and stove, both of which we used to make several meals. It would have been nice if they had supplied a few more basics. There were no paper towels, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, pan scrubbers. There was dish washing soap, plenty of dishes, pots and pans. Also a barbecue grill.
We ate every meal outside on one of the two balconies. So quiet and peaceful. Often, deer were eating outside at the same time we were.
The cottages are close to both the town of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Downtown Estes Park is cute and fun, and Rocky Mountain National Park is breathtaking.More
