“Not so much”

Just not a lot of variety. Not as clean as I would expect it. Perhaps more staff is needed?

“great zoo, plenty of shade even in summer”
Reviewed 23 February 2012

Most zoos you picture as big cages in a giant field where the sun bears down on you. Not so at RWPZ. The exhibits are natural surroundings and have plenty of benches between with shaded areas and spots to just rest and take it all in.

“Well worth it, even in the winter!”
Reviewed 23 February 2012

We went on a chilly, but sunny day in February when tickets were half price. We went in, knowing that by paying half price, we may not be able to see all the animals. However, we were pleasantly surprised that almost all the animals were on exhibit. We were able to get right up close to the elephants, which the kids loved. It was quite a large zoo...the kids were definitely tired of walking by the end. Money well spent!

“National Park”
Reviewed 16 February 2012

Roger Williams Park Zoo has been a fixture in Rhode Island for as long as I can remember. I'm 62 years old and I remember going there as a child. I took my children there when they were younger and now I take my grandchildren there. The zoo has changed many times over the years, but is still a great place to spend the day. Especially with the little ones.

“love this zoo”
Reviewed 11 February 2012

We returned to this zoo and will go back again. The timing was great because we got there within the first hour it opened. The only downside I would say is that some of the animals were not out in there areas until a little around lunch time, and none of the shops for coffee or food, except for gifts, were open. It is kept super clean, however, and the staff really do look like they love their jobs.
