“great date or great wedding reception”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2012

A real jewel for Tucson. The permanent exibits are exquisitve with some cowboy works and mexican traditional work that you wont forget. Quiet for dates and fun. The historic bungalow next door is now closed which is too bad. The visiting exhibits are always cutting edge, avant garde and very interesting...they keep me coming back again and again. Looked like a great place for a Bar Mitzvah or wedding reception plus it is outside but safe and secluded from the street.

In the El Presidio part of town, I just went for the first time in January. Why did I wait so long??? Not only is the museum a great place, the the whole area is filled with original buildings datng back to when Tucson was first settled. The museum has permanent exhibitions and some temporary, so check their web site for special events.

“Impressive Collection and Exhibits”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2012

On our recent vacation in Tucson, we checked out the Tucson Museum of Art. We've been to Tucson many times but had never visited the museum. We were very impressed and enjoyed both the permanent collection and the outstanding current exhibit on Frida Kahlo. The museum is located in the historic district in downtown Tucson and encompasses several historic homes and properties. Ample parking is available on the surrounding streets and in the museum's parking lot.

“World class”

Spent a great couple of hours here while exploring Tucson. As luck would have it there was a Frieda exhibit on when we visited. A great collection of photos, prints, and clothing.
Also an unbelievably good collection of ancient Chinese artifacts. Incredible pieces dating back to several thousand years BC.
The building also is a interesting one, a purpose built gallery, no steps, just a continuous ramp around many levels. congratulations Tucson!

A nice, small museum. It was quite surprising to see so many works of art.
