By far the best place to stay in Tucson!!! The best staff and service are here and it is close to plenty of golf if you need to get the fix. This is the real Tucson experience.

Room Tip: Stay down in tghe sections near the lower pool, secluded and peaceful!!

We have traveled to Tucson several times and love the Westward Look Resort. We felt that The Westward Look Resort was far superior to Loew's Ventana Canyon Resort. The location at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains is gorgeous. The views of the desert are lovely. It's convenient being just off of Ina Rd, too. The layout of the rooms on the resort property make it feel small and cozy, as opposed to some of the resorts that cater to business travelers and conventions. The grounds are lovely. The rooms are spacious, light-filled and airy. You get a lot of room for the money. We found the beds to be comfortable, though not quite as firm as we'd prefer. We have never had trouble getting a parking space directly in front of our suite. Having an adjustable flat-screen TV on the wall was a nice feature. There are a couple of pools and hot tubs on the property, which is really nice, because you don't have every guest crowded around one pool and one hot tub, which is what you find at most of the other resorts in Tucson. There is a walking path around the property that is very pretty. The staff have always been very responsive and friendly.

Room Tip: Request a vaulted ceiling suite with a desert view. There are also rooms that have private, outdoor hot tubs, but because they are enclosed, your view of the desert is blocked.

Westward Look is a lovely desert lodge nestled up closer to the Catalina Mountains by Oracle & Ina and Skyline drive. This means that guests can sit in the main lodge, the main dining room, or out on the terraces and enjoy the vast twinkling city lights below. Westward Look is rustic yet elegant, a resort yet quiet oasis, and historic yet modern. The rooms are large and sunlit and have been updated in a soothing color palette. Flat screen TV's with swivel mounts allowed the resort to get rid of previously cumbersome furniture, and rooms feel even more spacious, though they were always generous. Bathrooms have been remodeled with large walk-in showers and glass doors, and they've kept the mini-fridge which is so helpful for travelers who want to chill bottled water, medication, or food/snacks/beverages. Three pools, a lovely spa, stables, walking paths, tennis courts (and no golf, which is a nice change) provide lots of activity. Our king bed was comfortable, and the pull out sleeper got no complaints. Grounds were well maintained, the business center was great - and the addition of a barista in the main lodge for a morning latte was a delightful surprise this visit. Ultimately, a hotel can remodel as many times as it likes - but Westward Look has always maintained its serene warmth, and unpretentious feel.

Room Tip: Request an upper level room, however all Stargazer suites are lower level to accomodate out door patio hot tubs.

Stayed at the resort on our first wedding anneversary. This is an older esort, it had many updated features to the room. But the overall comfort was poor. The beds were horribly uncomfortable and the noise from the surrounding rooms was easily audible. You will need to get parking near your room early...if you get there late you will not get any parking. For the amount of money you pay, they should upgrade there mattresses...honestly the mattress I slept on felt 20 years old.
I would not stay there again and I would not recommend it to any friends.

It is in a very pretty area in the Northwest Tucson Foothills. Great service, Superb Dining, Immaculate Grounds. Luxuriously appointed rooms, Excellent beds, vert attentive staff. Great Views of Tucson and the Mountains.

I would go back in a heartbeat. Fast Free Internet that worked well.( A very nice finding!)

Room Tip: Ask for either a City or Mountain View Room
