My daughter is at U of A and I come down from Phoenix a few times a year.
This is by far the nicest place for the money I have seen.
Beds, pillows very comfortable.
I will stay here from now on for sure!

Room Tip: East rooms would be quieter.

This property was tucked away in a place I would not have expected in downtown Tucson. Great design to the rooms, and once I was there I felt like I was in an oasis with no sign that a city was around me. The restaurant was also a great find with unique offerings. We will definitely be back.

What a great suprise. We found the hotel on line and had a three day stay with the Green Ecco rates. The room was very spacious and the bathroom space was almost the size of the sleeping room. Enjoyed the open shower idea. We ate a few times in the restaurant and found the food excellent but the service was a little slow. The hotel is easy to get to and a great location to get to the Pima Air Museum, to I-10 for Kartchner Caverns and the Sonora Desert Museum. The ground were well kept and we liked the no smoking outside around the pool. The room was quiet and peaceful which made for a very enjoyable time.

Room Tip: WE had a ground floor and liked it. We had a deluxe King which was more that adequate. A freezer wit...

This is a lovely hotel but our room needed updating. Bathroom was old and shabby - I think it was clean but hard to tell. Beds and linens OK. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that had the weirdest layout - main room was mostly a hall way with 2 chairs on one side and TV on the other. No table and chairs to sit and eat. Main bedroom did have a desk. Two biggest complaints - 1. Could not see any of the lovely views from inside the room and 2. Slow, slow, slow Internet. With regard to the Internet, offering a free service that doesn't work isn't a plus - only an aggravation. Helpful front desk staff. Undercooked Eggs Benedict in the restaurant.

Lodge on the Desert in Tucson is a lovely oasis, combining traditional buildings with modern in a holistic and welcoming way. The pool area is secluded and attractive, the grounds are well kept and quiet, and the rooms are spacious and attractive, with a graceful desert decor and a fabulously comfortable bed. The staff is a gem...I have fragrance sensitivities, and though the products the hotel uses have a pleasant smell, too much of anything is a problem for me. Every time I have stayed there they have gone out of their way to minimize the fragrance in the room with excellent results. I recommend it highly.

Lodge on the Desert is very nice. We stayed in the newer part-in a suite with a view of the Catalinas. The Lodge is excellent in terms of room decor, cleanliness, friendly staff, the grounds are amazing, pool is really cool, and its just an overall nice place to stay. This was a work related trip. Could have stayed at the big box hotel downtown where the meeting was-sure glad we didn't. Coming back to the Lodge at the end of the day was a real treat. Like we were in Arizona. Oh, the the restuarant is very nice as well. A couple of time we couldn't eat at the resturant because they had other things going on-like weddings or special events. This is a place you would want to have a wedding reception at- if that gives you an idea of what its like. As far as rooms go. Ask for the newer section. We would go back in a heart beat.

Room Tip: newer section is where we stayed. northside facing the mountains. outstanding.
