Our teens 13 and 15 enjoyed the taverns very much as did my husband and I. I was a little disappointed that there was not more color in the caves but they were awesome with various shapes. Great example of God's handiwork.

I live in San Antonio and just today decided to take some out-of-town family to the caverns for a tour. We did the Discovery Tour which was very pretty and interesting. HOWEVER, two separate families on our tour brought their LITTLE kids along - who needed to be carried a majority (if not all) of the way because it is quite steep and long to walk. These kids literally screamed, cried, and made noise the entire tour. Even the guide looked annoyed at having to speak over them, and it was extremely obnoxious and distracting, since the caves kind of "echo" and the screams were loud and constant. The Cavern people really need to implement a rule of no kids under 2 or something... both for the convenience of the rest of the group as well as the safety of the parents walking thru the dark, wet, and steep terrain.

Very interesting cave This was a wonderful experience for all of us. So many of these types of attractions do the tourist bleed for tips at the end. No a word was mentioned. Word of mouth got us there and we will pass it on.

This is one of those sights that my family really enjoys seeing amd I would recommend it for yours. Nature is an awsome process and you will see it up close and personal on this short side trip worth the time and money.

I've been to a lot of caves including Carlsbad Caverns. This one was really good. It's also a way to get out of the heat of San Antonio, especially if you're not used to it. Not appropriate for anyone who has trouble walking. There are quite a few stairs, but you can skip the more strenuous part and wait for your party to finish the tour. Wear a sweater - it will be cold.

I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your cavern tour but I do want to clear up a couple of things for others reading this post. We offer two different walking tours though two different sections of caverns, both of which have steps. Unfortunately, there is not an option to skip any part of either tour and wait for your group. If guests need assistance they can let their tour guide know. Also, guests do not need to bring a sweater. The cavern temperature year round is 70 degrees with a 99% relative humidity, so it actually feels quite warm. Thank you!
