Description: Welcome to Bread Cultura. All our food revolves around 48 hour Long-Cultured Pan Dulce and Pan ArteSano. These are delicious pastries and bread which makes our sandwiches extraordinary. Come see our open bakery artisans crafting your bread. This is how bread was made before industrialization. It truly tastes like 1950s Mexico.

This is a great breakfast place on charming E. Houston street. A good place to start your day really. They work with amazing freshly made bread, the staff is friendly, and they carry newspapers in case you just wanna enjoy a cuppa coffee with a pastry.

We were there about two hours before the show, and it was busy. After standing in line to order, and taking a table, we were very happy to have gone early. About an hour and a half before the show, the line was out the door and down the sidewalk. If you are going to a show, and want to have a light dinner, or lunch, even a coffee and pastry before, plan on at least a 20 minute wait in line. The food was very good, service was very friendly, and the food runners and bus staff were friendly and engaging with conversation while we were there.

Wow, what a gem! It's clean, well-staffed and they serve excellent food. We departed the River Walk area and found this Cafe. It is a great place for breakfast or lunch with reasonable prices. The food and coffee were excellent. We will go back in a few days. We absolutely love this place.

First I got food from an office partner, it was great. I then picked up food and it was great. I then took wife and eat at this location and the food was great.

We love La Panaderia. We could hardly wait to get back to San Antonio just to have lunch there. Our memory was of wonderful pastries, great coffee, reasonably quiet, and not too crowded. Well, two out of four ain't bad.

Partly it's our fault, we managed to go at peak lunchtime on a Friday. There were no seats to be had inside or out, but within half an hour, everyone was gone. The noise was deafening.

Start with the coffee. We had plain coffee, and I'm sorry they don't have the bottomless cup at this location, as it was very good. Then the pastries: my husband's very decadent creation (no idea what it's called) was luscious, a small circle of creamy delight with a chocolate covered strawberry on top. Mine? Not so much. I'm not a fan of Mexican sweet breads, so it was a mistake to order a cinnamon bun. Not what I'm used to, which is not their fault. It looked a lot better when I was hungry.

Our sandwich (which we shared) was delicious. Fabulous bread, good ham and melted cheese with a bite to the dressing. The accompanying soup (fideo?) was bland and boring.

I guess we mostly were disappointed in our timing. More time to decide, more time to linger, fewer people would've made this as perfect as it was last time.
