Stayed here for one night on business and it is well worth the stop. Rooms are large, very large in fact, many are suites with two bathrooms and some have fireplaces. Overall you can not fault the rooms. Excellent value, just may be a bit of walking to get to your room!

Food in the restaurants is pricey, but standards are good. Fitness center extremely well appointed but I found the TVs on the machines to be in need of attention as cable signals were poor. Usually an issue of too many TV's on one cable feed.

Rooms are very good value but you pay for the food so overall this is not a cheap place to stay, however it is a resort.and casino.

What happens at Thunder stays at Thunder.... That was our motto for this past weekend. My friend and I took advantage of a night I got for my husband and I at the Buffalo Thunder Resort. My husband wasn't able to go like we originally planned so I invited her along and we had a blast. The Resort is BEAUTIFUL!!! The staff was so friendly, and the overall atmosphere was very peaceful. We had fun playing in the Casino, then we parited it up at The Warehouse Club inside the Resort and I have not had that much fun in such a long time. I cannot wait to go back with my husband.

we took advantage of the reduced weekend rate that Hilton is offering and the price included breakfast coupons that could be spent at either the breakfast cafe or the Starbucks. The breakfast buffet has the usual breakfast-eggs, meats, roast potatoes, cereal assortment, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc.; there is also a breakfast menu available for other breakfast items such as french toast. This Hilton is a bit out of the way from Santa Fe proper but easy to get to from the plaza. There is a casino attached to it and a golf course across the parking lot. There is also a Homewood Suites nearby. This hotel would be well suited for conferences. There's a Starbucks, gift shops, a couple of nightclubs, an upscale restaurant and bar, a breakfast/lunch cafe, and a buffet and there's a small bar/food place in the casino. Lots of southwest/Indian sculptures around in the common areas. Large pool -didn't check it out due to the time of year. Our room was large with a sofa, big screen tv, a table and chairs, desk, lounge chair, king sized bed, huge bathroom with separate tub and a large glassed-in shower. There is a coffee maker in the room with Lavazza coffee, and the coffee was very good for the type of coffee maker. Although our room did not have a balcony there were many rooms with balconies. It was quiet and private and provided a very nice getaway.

We stayed five nights in a suite that featured a king bedroom, living/dining area, two fireplaces, an impressive master bath and an additional half-bath! This room was not available on-line when we made our initial reservations about two months ahead, but you can sign-up on line and request to be upgraded when you arrive. Reservations were easy and service requests were handled in a timely and friendly manner. Had a room service breakfast that was generous in portions, but took about 45 minutes to deliver. All the staff was pleasant and helpful, with the exception of one bartender in the Turquoise Trail bar and grill in the casino - he was terrible. The linens were very comfortable - smooth and soft - and the rooms were very spacious. We were on the 5th level and had a balcony off of both the living area and the master bedroom. The views were not great if you looked to the left - saw mostly the top of the casino and a lot of mechanical equipment there. The casino runs lots of fun promotions and there is entertainment in several venues - but mostly they are open on the weekends. The indoor pool area was extremely warm and steamy - not to my liking. The outdoor pool was closed as we were there in February. I would recommend this facility - it is only about 16 minutes north of Santa Fe - close to other casino's - and about an hour of scenic driving to Taos. The place is clean and well maintained - the master bathroom had a very large, deep soaking tub with a shower PLUS an additional large walk-in shower!

Room Tip: The space and features of the two room suite are a good value - but the regular rooms are also spaci...

Be sure to spend a little extra for a terrace suite. We requested the breakfast and Internet package which we recommend. The breakfast was great. The two rooms are spacious and the bathroom is impressive. We arrived after 3 pm and were not able to get room keys until 4:20 pm (20 minutes after the 4 pm check in time). Another reason we recommend getting a two room suite is so that you can close the bedroom door to keep out the hallway noise from people returning to their rooms from midnight until 3 am.

Room Tip: Check Hilton.com for room packages

There were 3 of us on this trip. It was spur of the moment that we decided to stay at Buffalo Thunder over the weekend. It was very easy to book a room over the phone although it seemed as though the person I was talking to was in another country. He was able to look up information about the hotel but it was a little bit of a wait while he checked. We had a room with 2 queen beds, a fireplace and a balcony. The only complaint we had about the stay was the fact that you have to walk down a really long hallway to get to the elevators from the check in desk. This was difficult especially for someone who has a bad leg. The indoor pool was small but it was nice and the hottub was in the same area and was pretty big at a nice 104 degrees. We would definitely stay again but next time we'll go just for the adults.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a balcony to enjoy coffee outside in the morning. They have a nice coffee machine in...

Clean and generous facilities. Loved the sculptures and other artwork. Would stay again. Wish they would not charge for internet service.

Room Tip: View of mountains is best. You can get complimentary wireless internet if you have AT&T service...
