It poured the day of our canoe trip (totally not the outfitters fault), but trips are run rain or shine so weather is an important consideration. We pre-booked the 11am midweek special and arrived at 10:30 to sign in, watch the safety video, etc. thinking that we would be departing at 11am. With every other trip we've ever taken - and there have been MANY with other outfitters, the expectation has been arrival at least a half hour before the listed trip time for prompt departure at the stated time. When we got there we were told the trip would be leaving around 11:30 so we ended up sitting around waiting for quite a while. It seemed busy but not over the top, but the service we received wasn't super personal (no assistance getting our life vests, no conversation on the bus ride to the river, etc.). The 40% chance of afternoon showers turned to pouring rain as soon as we stepped off the bus. It poured the entire 2 hour trip - we were beyond soaked. The canoe filled with rain water. Several spots in the river were low and we became stuck. This probably would've been an entirely different experience if the weather had cooperated, so for those taking a trip here be sure to check the weather and confirm your arrival time with the outfitter beforehand. Also be sure to bring a change of clothes with you - the life jackets have a very musty smell.
