I love all the vegetables and the variety. I usually get vegetable plate as more times than not the meats are overcooked except for meatloaf. I love banana pudding and 1st time very good but next 2 times it was not good as the artificial banana flavoring ruined it.
Overall a good lunch although pricey.

I haven't been since they changed the format to "The Lunchroom", but this has always been one of my favorite lunch venues in Murfreesboro. The food has always been spectacular. The sides are a step above what you would normally find at a Meat and Three and the banana pudding is the dessert not to miss.

This place is now called the Lunch Room and there is no wait staff. The food is great with plentiful portions but the prices are way too high to not have wait staff who will pick up a tray or refill your drink. We love their food however. Different choices every day. Go early to get the most options. Now also only open for lunch Monday through Friday.

Visited B. McNeel’s today for lunch…sorry it took me so long to meet “B” Barbara McNeel at this establishment. B. McNeel’s is currently in the middle of all the construction surrounding the square, but don’t let that to deter you from visiting and dining at a solid “Meat & Three” establishment. The 100-year-old building is incredible…old exposed brick along with country charm. The menu changes daily so visit the web site for details and they are only open for lunch unless otherwise noted. .

For me the meatloaf was my choice with mashed potatoes, cucumber salad, and corn pudding. The meatloaf was very good, well flavored, and covered with more of a sweet tomato sauce (think pasta) versus a BBQ sauce…a nice compliment to the meatloaf. The corn pudding…is DELICIOUS and the mashed potatoes were homemade and good. The cucumber salad…a bit different from most “southern” cucumber salads. During my first bite I was thinking “what a nice, sweet vinaigrette” and then the “zing” hit me. They add some red pepper flakes and while the heat was a surprise, it really made for a tasty dish. The chunk of cornbread was excellent and needs to be larger (hint hint).

My daughter had a 4-vegetable plate of corn pudding, Mac & Cheese, sweet potato casserole, and glazed carrots. As previously stated, the corn pudding is awesome and the Mac & Cheese is homemade, creamy, and “very yummy”. The carrots were slightly seasoned and perfectly “al-dente” while the sweet potatoes lacked a little of the “southern flair” of sweetness via brown sugar.

For drinks…no bar so a fruit tea (very sweet) and a half/half tea rounded things out.

They have a beautiful outdoor setting when the weather warms up and they do catering and special events. Service was good and we did not lack for anything.

Highly recommend them for lunch…I will return!
